They weren't NORMAL people...they were Bothans...and many of them died!!!

I stand corrected. I always thought this was the badly damaged, currently being repaired but "fully functional" death star that Luke blew up in SW E4.

Plans weren't the key information that the Bothans provided, it was the fact that the Emperor was overseeing the final construction and was on board.
