Just sayin’ what though? “Her” in that sentence is referring to Iowa State and in general colleges in the u.s. are personified as female. The equivalent thing to look at is “loyal sons” because that’s referring to the students or fans.

I’m not saying emaw is or isn’t dumb. I’m just saying we have the same issue in our fight song

And when we hit that line we'll hit it hard
ev'ry yard for I.S.U.

Just sayin what students or fans other than the football players fall into this category?

EMAW is not politically correct. The former administration tried to kill it. The current one has embraced it. Generally, K-State fans love it.

I always pictured surly as male. This really messes with my reading of her posts.

Interesting. Just based off their message boards, and the 2015 Big 12 tournament, I get the impression that a good chunk of their fans really don't like us. Think our fanbase is classless white trash, etc.

I'll take your word on it. You have more experience and a broader base of knowledge on this than I do.

I will say that both times I went to Lawrence for football games (2012 and 2014) the fans were cool, had a positive opinion of ISU, and were looking forward to the basketball match up.
Those Kansas message board fans you're referring to are trailer trash douchebags. Most Kansas fans I've met in real life seem pretty cool.

none, but then why do we as fans sing it? It's the same thing as saying "we're going to be good this year." Technically, "we're" not, the football team will, but you say "we" because you're a fan. It's the same thing with the fight song

Live near and work with a lot of KU fans. I dont know a single one that despises ISU. The only school they despise is Missouri. Most of them respect ISU, and note that its been a really fun series as of late. Most KU fans I know don't really seem to care about KSU and talk very little about them. .
THIS. There's a few fringe KU fans who will never let go of the ISU fans who called Elijah Johnson the n-word and posted death threats against him but as a whole, KU fans appreciate the aggressive support of ISU basketball fans.

And sorry Surly, KSU isn't our rival. The only teams that it bugs me to lose to are anyone who is in the bottom third of the standings because those are games KU should win. .

Basing your opinion of fans off of their behavior on message boards is silly. Only the hardcore 2% of the fan base participates on a message board.
