Weak, weak bubble. Indiana has a shot at 15-14 (with admittedly better wins than OU, but with worse losses too).

In the history of the "bubble", has there ever been a year when the bubble has been strong?

I honestly cannot remember one single college basketball season in which I've heard Jay Bilas, Lunardi, or any other of the talking heads refer to a strong bubble.

Stronger than it is this year. Usually, you look at the teams and can make arguments for a few that do not get in. This year, I don't think you'll be able to do that.

Sir Mix a Lot believes in strong bubbles.

True. And one of my pet peeves.

If there were a balance between references to "weak" and "strong" bubble from year to year, I'd have no problem with it. But we never hear something like, "Oh my, so many teams are worthy of getting into the tournament, there isn't enough space to fit them all in."

I view it as a continuum. It isn't like the it gets to 10-seed area, then drops into a dark abyss.

Some seasons (such as this one), a noticeable number of teams still alive for a berth have overall records that look terrible compared to their body of work.

Looking at it a different way, I don't recall a lot of years when so many non-majors are at-large locks or still in the hunt: Nevada, Buffalo, Wofford are locks; Utah State, Belmont, Murray State, Furman, Lipscomb remain in the picture. And maybe St. Mary's.

In his sole season at K-State, Bob Huggins coached the Wildcats to a 23–12 overall record, a 10–6 finish in the Big 12 but did not make the NCAA field. So yes, there have been years when today what would be considered a lock were not selected. The bubble this year is dreadfully bad.

Exhibit 1A why it was stupid to increase the field to 68. So a couple of at large berths go away because of a couple more autobids. Should have left well enough alone.

Back when the PAC-12 wasn’t a total joke the bubble was stronger than it is now.

Hopefully Prohm doesn't let the team know they are ranked. They don't seem to respond well to knowing they are ranked. We need to be in top form to win at least one of our last two regular season games. Losing both would not put us in a good place for the tourneys.
