Feel pretty much the same as I did after the Prohm hire. Maybe a little underwhelmed but certainly not disappointed. And this is for a pretty historically bad program and not a title contender like basketball, so I should probably like it more.

Welcome, Coach Campbell (if report is true)!

I'm gonna go ahead and admit I wasn't overly excited when the news starting coming out today until someone starting saying "No, you can't have him!" So now I'm pumped!

In my defense, I had never even considered him a candidate because I thought we were out of his league.

The David Ubben/Jake Trotter types certainly said that as well. Not to mention good ol' jsb on this board.

Reading through the pages of this thread has me thinking I'm watching Nancy Grace around a legal case.

Mizzou must have passed for their DC. I could not be happier. A young, energetic, coach with experience that is in high demand. Plus he is an offensive guy who can develop offensive lineman.

Plus alternative uniforms! And Twitter! And new music!

I really appreciate the time and energy Jeremy and CW put into this Free site. I am sick and tired of people complaining about other people's hard work on Thanksgiving weekend. Both have taken time away
from family during this time to keep us updated of things from their sources. I have no doubts that when they report things they are 100% true for that moment. But things change instantly in the sports world when life choices are being made. People saying Pollard is on shaky ground is ridiculous. Nothing he has done is even close to
being on shaky ground. If people can not see the amazing things he has done with our budget then I feel sorry for all of you. I am sure he has upset some people. Every person of power can rub someone the wrong way. Get over it. He has done amazing things. Only real thing he messed up was chizek. We were all estatic when Gene was hired. Omaha radio said it was like the school nerd taking miss America to Prom. By the way of all the guys interviewed he is the only one with a National Title. If a deal was in place to the degree people are saying then you do cancel interviews. Not fair to waste somebody else's time when they aren't getting the job. What if he kept interviewing guys and it got out? What is Campbell going to say? He thinks a deal is in place but we are still interviewing. Nobody on this board is related to or is friends with the coaching candidates so I don't understand why everyone takes it so personal. Everybody wants to be the first to know details but are upset when things change. If it bothers you so badly then wait until the press conference to see the new coach interviewed. When Nebraska fired Sorich they got their 5th public choice. They messed that up so badly the Nebraska plane sat in Arkansas for 6 hours while Houston nutt redid his deal in Arkansas. Arkansas hired Dana Altman for one day and had a press conference and everything. Coaches change their minds all the time. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.

Hearing that Missouri ended up wanting to go a different path (likely in house DC) and freed Campbell up to decide between Toledo and ISU. Sounds like Toledo offered at around 900k for 10 years but couldn't go any higher. ISU won the bidding war (clearly wasn't much of a struggle) and a big emphasis will be put on a competitive assistant package. Ayeni expected to stay, discussions ongoing relating to other possible holdovers.

Thanks, Missouri?

Hopefully we got him relatively cheaply, as he is going to need a hell of a staff.

Looks like we were the drunken flirtation at the bar that ended up in a one night stand, which resulted in a pregnancy with a forced marriage.
