Some real human elements at play here:
1) Her daughter is getting married this summer (per Register story).
2) She's married.
3) The guy is married.
4) Clearly, DSM asked her to leave early when they found this.
5) She's probably getting a quick firing from Omaha.

Hopefully, her decision was worth it, since everything else will be impacted by her choice. Skimming the e-mails, she didn't come off real well on this.

It's insane how some very highly paid, supposedly educated people can act at times. How tough would it have been for her to set up a freaking GMail account? Then she could send her salacious e-mails through Google rather than the taxpayer funded account that is open to the public through records request laws.

Hell, she could have probably even still used GMail on the public computers she had access to and they wouldn't have been as easily tracked.

She has got to be beyond embarrassed. Not only by all of those e-mails getting out, but by how stupid it makes her look that she couldn't even be smart enough to use a different e-mail address. The Rag even blocked out a lot of the worst of the e-mails, but they still are horribly incriminating.

Just saw that. She has to be kicking herself in the ***. She'd still have her cush job here in Des Moines if she hadn't looked to move another rung up the ladder. Unreal.

One more piece of evidence that degrees and accolades don't make a person smarter. They just mean that they spent longer on that educational track.

"So, could you tell me why you left your last position?"

This won't be career ending. She could still probably work for a private educational consulting firm, but not a full-time position with a school board. There are lots of good jobs out there, such as with the company that made $100k for each of the two recent executive searches for the ISU.

This is the exact right amount of gossip for me....I kind of love this story.
