True -- maintaining that streak has become an end unto itself.

But that still means Self does not care about the Big 12 tournament. I have never sensed Kansas really puts much anything extra into KC.

They want their streak, and they want to do well in March.

KC is at best a bonus and typically more of a distraction or them.
