Golf stocks tanked today...fewer eyeballs watching, fewer buyers, fewer everything. Some talk about Tiger having his own tour also. The man is an ICON like MJ.

Although a few have mentioned it, I am surprised there isn't more focus on how amazing his win was this weekend. He was playing on a serious injury and still won the US Open. That is legendary.

“He’s been playing way less than 100 percent for a long, long, time,” Haney said. “It has limited him a lot in practice. He’s going to come back better than he’s ever been.”

Quote from MSNBC story above by his swing coach. Scary.

I don't believe that. Of course his swing coach is going to say that. It's all propaganda.

That truly could be scary.

those steroids really start to weaken tendons, ligaments, and bones after a while. Time to pay the piper, tiger.

Yeah - that's probably also why he won so many junior titles and appeared in Golf Digest with a hole in one at age 5. Gotta be the steroids.

Look - I didn't like Tiger when he first hit the tour for a number of reasons, but at some point you have to let it go and give the guy his due.

I doubt that. I am sure he will be just as good but not better then ever.

The thing I don't like about Tiger is he will shank his tee shot, heck I can do that. But then from standing on a cart path in the forest at 213 yards out with fire ants attacking his legs and he will hit it within 10 ft. and make birdie. Meanwhile from the same situation I am praying for a bogey, most likely a double, and just hoping it doesn't end up being a snowman. He makes me feel bad.

I think that's what makes him such a great player. He's a great scrambler. I also think his putting is amazing also. I would take Tiger's Scrambling and Putting over anybody. The only thing I don't think he's the best at is his driving ability and his wedge play.

I had a torn ACL. I didn't have it immediatly repaired because my growth plates weren't closed yet (i was 15 at the time)... I lived with a torn ACL for about 8 months.

Walking was never an issue... even a jog wouldn't cause too many problems. I realize that the story is still amazing, but it isn't like he ran a marathon... He was playing golf. I don't think that it affected his play that much.

An old roommate of mine tore her ACL or some _CL in her knee and didn't know about it for a year or so and she really didn't have to much of a limp after a couple of months after doing it.

An ACL injury affects people differently and affects different activities. I tore mine (left knee) while at ISU and the team orthopedic (Broderson at the time) did the surgery. He said I braved the pain of the injury and the surgery for better than most of the athletes he treated (it was the morphine). That surgery was 20 years ago, and to this day my knee swells and is sore after a round of golf due to the twisting and torque of the follow-through. And if you ever want to know if it's going to rain, just give me a call....

Based on my experience, and that doesn't include having a broken leg, what we just saw over the weekend was extraordinary. I know I sound like a cheerleader for Tiger and don't mean to, but simply returning without any significant practice, making the putts and incredible shots he made - you just can't minimize what happened. With or without the injuries. The game and the PGA is going to miss him.

You think Tiger's putting is amazing now...Putting is all the guy is going to do when he can't swing. He is going to be the most amazing putter of all time (pretty much already is). I see him putting during all of his rehab when he can't swing the sticks. Gonna be fun to watch. I'm going to miss him saying " NOOO TIIIGGGEERRR" when he hits a bad drive...or when he says "TIIIGGGEERRR WOOODDDSSS" when he hits a bad shot out of the fairway...haha I love those

Do you play golf? Do you realize how much you actually twist and torque your knee in one swing? It's much different than walking in a straight line or jogging.

What he said ^^^^^^

Golf is hard on a person's body in many ways. There are personal trainers out there that run whole classes on golf fitness etc.
