So apparently the entire Toledo staff will follow CMC. Makes perfect sense since an Ohio MAC team's staff will be entirely familiar with the Big XII's recruiting landscape.

Can we bring back Wayne Bolt, and Robert McFarland while we're at it?...

Our new head coach with years of HC experience wants to bring 2 guys from his current staff and this is the reaction. Smh

Its not anything to panic at now, but certainly his overall staff would seem to need to have a bit broader set of recruiting than the ones we know about so far who are all mainly ohio guys who all played\coached at the same places.

I'm betting these 2 are the only ones, I'm thinking they would just rip the band aid off. We're not in the position to complain about poor asst coaching.

I agree. But Rhoads' staff had 8 guys who were coordinators/position coaches. Bringing 2 would be entirely reasonable. And before someone says Ayeni makes 3 for recruiting purposes... he pulled a gem of an RB not out of Michigan, or Ohio, or Pennsylvania, but out of Oklahoma.

Not sure how to feel about this, but I guess this guy has more experience at the position than Sturdy. But can he recruit in the Big 12? 25 spots higher than ISU isn't saying much

Have u read up on Manning and the OC. Young guys who are stud recruiters. So far he's brought over 2 of what 11 coaching positions? You act like he brought the entir staff over. Have you ever heard of a new HC not bringing a few staff he's been with for years and feels comfy with? No. And last I checked we are about to pluck Toledo top two recruits from them and they are from the state of GASP Ohio! Don't think for a second that we can't recruit Ohio because this staff will..they've had long relationships there with all the Hs and to abandon it would be dumb. Campbell knows he will need TX roots in his staff. He's not an idiot.

If Tom Herman leaves Houston for the Big Time, I would make a hard press to get his DC, Todd Orlando, although statistically, the Toledo defense was pretty good, too.

Orlando's defenses are ball hawking, turnover focused defenses that have been near the top of FBS for the past four years. He currently earns $500,000 working for Herman as DC.

Herman was bragging him up pretty big in his postgame interview the other day. I've gotta think Herman keeps him wherever he goes.

25 spots says a bit, but 25 spots higher in a non-P5 conferences says a fair share.

I really don't understand the fan reaction today. This is tremendous news.

Is it just me, or is that a large sum of money for an assistant? Wow.

Gonna assume their recruiting budget at ISU will allow the to travel more than at Toledo.

25 spots higher isn't much? It was to a MAC school dang man what do you want? Do you need Knute Rockne to be reborn and hired at ISU to be able to see that we could, just possibly, be ok with this hire?

I wonder if the report is that Campbell WANTS him to come with, barring a move to promote him to Toledo HC? Maybe he elects to stay and become a head coach. I guess we're inclined to hope he comes with Matt.
I was wondering the same thing. I'm guessing we wouldn't be paying him as much to be OC as he could earn as HC at Toledo. I'm worried he'll get settled in for a couple days, then bolt back to Toledo when they offer him the HC job (although I wouldn't fault him for taking it).
