I like all the action we are getting from recruiting in Wisconsin. And I really hope we can stay strong at TE. It seems like wise use of TEs can cover for some of our struggles at QB and WR by taking short passes over the middle. I would like to see us make more use of TEs for these simple plays.

What makes you think we're still going to have "struggles at QB and WR?"

The last 8 years.
What does that have to do with this year? Seriously?

Believe it or not, the quarterbacks and wideouts from "the last eight years" are fresh out of eligibility...

Edit: ^^^^^ Wry humor, not "condescending". Figured I needed to point that out.

According to Paul Clark at CR, Nebraska is "a little ahead of Iowa State right now based on its tradition." This is from Paul's interview with Elmore. The "a little ahead" is a quote from Elmore, not Paul's opinion. Lots of other stuff in the article, but it is a pay site so I won't go any further.

You mean, like they decreased for Jake Campos when he visited Oklahoma?

I wish that more Cyclone fans could learn to grow out of this "poor relations" attitude.

We got a new Marshall here in town, and his name's Paul Rhoads, and things, they is a'changin'.

If you don't understand that chances decrease when they visit some high-profile program then you don't understand statistics or human nature. It's no guarantee that they will go there but it definitely decreases the chances of going to ISU.

YOu are right. The WR and QBs of now were sitting on the bench behind those guys..

I'm not too worried because I have a feeling that Brun is going to have a good year and show that ISU is a destination for TEs not only to see the field soon, but have an active role in passing and blocking. People forget that Bibbs coming here over OU was probably more attributed to the fact their TE had a handful of catches all season and seeing the field would be more difficult there. I would love it to be his love for the clones but lets not kid ourselves.

Im expecting Colin Franklin numbers out of Brun this year. Richardson will need someone to lean on as Bundrage, Ecby and West grow into better feature receivers. Brun is certainly capable of it.

Actually, they were in high school and junior high. In other words, they have absolutely nothing to do with the performance of the last eight years.

Dont get me wrong... I hope we have a bunch of true freshman playmakers. But we haven't seen a consistent passing game in years. I can see why some people are pesimistic on the ability for this years team to change that
