Being overly excited about our players is way less annoying than a poster being the "optimism cop", thinking it's their responsibility to keep everyone's expectations in check.
He bought into the Dylan Lee - Gale Sayers comp and he just wants to be sure no one else has to experience that pain. He's like our player comp Batman.

This one is spot on:

Player Comparison: Adoree' Jackson. A few times every decade arises a player that can play both ways at a very high level. We have seen it with Myles Jack at UCLA, Deion Sanders, and this year in Travis Hunter. Khijohnn matches the skillset of the true triple-threat player in Adoree' Jackson. Both are great receivers, corners, and returnmen with similar builds and special speed.

This person compared JJ Kohl to Justin Herbert and Joe Flacco, Jacob Imming to AJ Klein, Deylin Hasert to Kyle Long, Deon Silas to Dalvin Cook, Darien Porter to Randy Moss, Daniel Howard (2026 commit) to Aaron Donald. They said Dekkers was Heisman material. They predicted Hunter Deyo would be an all-timer at ISU.

I want ISU to win the big 12 and a natty as much as anyone on here, but I’m also a realist. McDonough is very physically gifted, but I might say Malone is equally, if not more, physically gifted, looking at them in person side by side.

In saying “DE may be the weakest position on our team,” I’m not saying our DE’s will be bad. I just think we’ll be so good everywhere else, they may be the group that isn’t as good. But it’s also concerning we brought in 3 GT DEs
Then call that poster out rather than calling everyone out.

Yeah, he is always overly optimistic, but he also says at the very start when he puts a player comp it is a comparison of the style of play to a player most people will be familiar with, not a comparison to the success/career trajectory the player enjoyed. He uses the example of comparing a scat back to Darren Sproles rather than Jerome Bettis so people understand that the player is an undersized, quick, speed back rather than a pounder.

Perhaps we shouldn't read into the comparisons too much.

There are other reasons many of us aren't a big fan of this poster..
