Thanks for the idea, I just created a new website:

TransferBasketballPlayersMeetCoaches.com

No I need to thing of an annoying jingle like farmersonly.com
why not just rip it off.
ANNOUNCER: Are you tall and feeling lonely under the basket?
Looking for a coach that understands that you can do more than just rebound and dunk?
What if there was a coach that let Power Forwards take the ball up the court and even shoot? Maybe let you hang out with the guard on the perimeter.
JINGLE:
"No you don't have to be lonely at 6'10powerforwardsOnly.com"

All things being equal, I'm sure the staff would prefer a JUCO. We already have 5 scholarship seniors for next year. Adding another 5th year player makes for a really unbalanced class breakdown.

Do you struggle with everyday logic? Do you not understand that every freshman doesn't contribute right away, especially big men?

Your thought process is embarassing.
Well, I am impressed by your passion, but no, my logic is not faulty. Common belief is that for ISU to sign someone else, either Carter or Ernst will be leaving (or possibly Cooke). I am not making these decisions, the staff is. If they replace one of Carter or Ernst with this grad transfer, then they are the ones deeming the kid as not being Big 12 worthy, not me. If they felt both are ready to contribute big minutes next year, we would not be having this discussion as we would not still be recruiting.
My point was simple, just because the staff would happen to chose to offer someone does not mean that someone will be anything special, just that it is the best player the staff feels they can get which is why I felt it odd of someone to question a poster about not having faith in the staff. Good players are very hard to get in the spring and that is why ISU has hardly ever landed good spring players except for transfers. Out of the last 30 or so spring signees, maybe a couple have done something worthwhile at ISU. Ernst and Carter could turn out to be exceptions, but logic and odds favor them not ever contributing much. Does not mean I personally think they will not or that they cannot be the exceptions, but the logical thing would be to assume they won't until they prove otherwise. I applaud the vigor that you are holding out hope with though. Kudos to you.

Even though rosters are so fluid year to year, that's a great point about potentially having 5 seniors next year. Wouldn't Davis have 2 years to play?

The way the staff is recruiting, they may feel confident in the abilities of Ernst and Carter. Just spitballing here.

If that were the case, I do not think they would still be recruiting at all. If no one is leaving, no need to recruit. But then, maybe it is Cooke or another guard looking to leave.

I love how so many people on here don't trust our staff lol. If our staff wants him I'm fine with it.

I have no idea whether this staff (Otz aside) are good or bad talent evaluators until we get to see some of those players on the floor.

I'm hopeful, of course, but at this point it's just blind optimism.

Not following. Seems we've inquired about 6'7 guys- juco Davis, Jones, and the 6'8" other grad transfer. Seems more like they 'are' recruiting as if they aren't counting on them, at least maybe not both of them. Or are you saying, one of the bigs is for only Lard's spot?

Maybe in 2017-18 and beyond but I don't know how much you can count on them next year. Carter looked pretty far off. He barely played and Ernst redshirted in a year where we could have used an extra 8-10 min/game role player.

I would not bet my raise on those two.

I think there was about 700 in the transfer market last year and the same or more this year. Until we actually sign a big man for the post I don't get too excited.

The 6'10" center that shoots 45% from three and can handle like Kyrie? Is that the guy you're looking for?

Think how much Bielfeldt would have helped our team this year. He averaged 5 pts and 3 boards per game and came off the bench for a bad Michigan team his last season before transferring. The two names we've been linked to on the grad transfer market plus Davis all sound like great options to me. Just need to land one of them
