We are in one some serious talent in 2014. Imagine if we somehow got just two of those guys listed.

And a by the way, I will be updating the 2013/2014 profiles and lists tomorrow with the new rankings. So don't get too excited if they are not changed quite yet with the new ratings that were released...

Zeigler has dropped two rankings releases in a row now - IIRC. Scouts must not like what they are seeing.

Thomas still has the chance to be moved up by Rivals. With the live period upon us, they might see him more, and like him more. He was #131 or #141, so he moved up a ways to #104.

While Martez Walker isn't highly rated (right now) his recruitment seems to be hotter right now, than Zeigler's. Note the word "seems".

New 2013 Rivals 150:

79) Monte Morris
104) Matt Thomas
89) Terrence Samuel
92) Jaylen Brantley
118) Byron Zeigler
120) Kyle Washington

Scout released their new 2014 Top 75:

5) Tyus Jones
13) Chris McCullough
17) Rashad Vaughn
21) Jared Terrell
31) Isaiah Whitehead

I don't know why, but I feel like setting the over/under at 1.5 and taking the over with the 2014 guys. Too much Kool-Aid this summer I suppose.

I just don't understand how rivals can differ this much from ESPN. ESPN has Thomas 84th and Morris 95th.

That'r really not much of a difference. Once you get outside of the top 25-35 players the difference between say 40-140 isn't that huge.

Vaughn + McCullough would be effing amazing. I'd just take one and be happy but anything beyond that is just icing on the cake.

I posted this in the other thread too but here was Eric Bossi's response to me in the Rivals 150 chat about ISU's recruits thus far:

ericbossi:
Morris is a combo guard. Likes to attack the rim, streaky shooter, vocal leader and a tough defender. Thomas is a shooter who doesn't need much space or time to knock down a clean look. Very nice start for Fred Hoiberg and company.

Someone posted this earlier, if Rashad commits, we could have a starting line-up of:

Monte Morris
Matt Thomas
Rashad Vaughn
Georges Niang
Percy Gibson

With a bench of:
Naz Long
Sherron Dorsey-Walker
Kerwin Okoro
(Considering No Other Commits, JUCOs, or Transfers, which is impossible)

That's one tough team.

2014 Rashad Vaughn recently had an interview with NY2LA Sports where he indicated that he would like to take some additional visits before narrowing his list this Fall. Among those he would like to visit include Baylor, Iowa State, Miami, Syracuse and Kansas.

I hope he just wants to visit Miami for the sun, beaches and beach girls. Not for the cocaine, hookers, and basketball.
