Because playing time is a big thing for Grandstaff, and Vaughn is, in no way, a one and done player.

So you have no idea. I think Vaughn will tell the coaches before the announcement, but who is to say that Vaughn's timeline will be the same as HB's?

Could be like Wiggins.

Self had no idea what Wiggins was going to do. Self even said he texted Wiggins something along the lines of "Good luck, enjoy this day, you've earned it." and Wiggins just texted back "Thanks." Self thought for sure he was done after that.

Sometimes these recruits are REALLY good at playing poker. I'm not saying I think he's going to ISU, but it's certainly not out of the picture like many of the know-it-alls around here are claiming.

RV is most likely a 1 and done. If he comes to ISU with the team coming back, he could average 10 points a game for a highly ranked team and be considered a lottery pick..........its all about potential.

Seems like the Recruits nowadays really enjoy punking and pranking the selection process. If I was an Illini fan, I woulda been pizzed what Cliff Alexander did.

I knew Doug McDermott pretty well in HS and he told me where HB was going a few days before he Skyped Roy Williams. The recruits don't make it a blindside-type thing. It isn't a "wait until the day of" type thing.

And if he's announcing in a week and didn't tell anyone where he's going, why would Hoiberg cancel his visit to Las Vegas? (If thats true, which I've heard from other posters.)

You know why Jeff B. and Myles don't know? Because those who do know wouldn't ever tell them or the snakes that want to go out and say "Rashad is going to XXX. No need to watch his announcement."

If that's true, how come when he was interviewed, he said "I'm not sure, but feel very good about it being Iowa State." You're full of it. I remember the Doug McDermott radio interview from four years ago.

How could you even pretend to be so arrogant as to think you could predict that? And Grandstaff doesn't give a **** about RV's decision to go to ISU and did not decommitt because he thinks RV is not going to ISU. That's insane.

Also, you'd be blind if you think RV will still commit here after Grandstaff decommitted from Shove U.

I don't know whether this is how it went down, but I'm sure Hoiberg called him after RV told him he wasn't coming here and said "well, you know…RV isn't coming here…" decommit.

I feel like the Cunningham/Vaughn recruitment is more comparable than the Grandstaff/Vaughn recruitment.

And posted in another thread apparently we are out on Cunningham meaning Hoiberg may have told Cunningham his services are no longer needed because we have Vaughn coming in.

It is all just a massive guessing game and each person interprets it in a different way.

I'm not full of it. I don't know why he said that. I didn't listen to that interview…I was in HS. I was probably doing homework. I didn't even know Doug did interviews. I knew him as a friend, he knew me as a friend. Why would he tell the world where his friend is going?

There is a rivals article out today interviewing Grandstaffs dad. He mentions a lot of schools, but no mention of ISU. I find this puzzling if Vaughn going elsewhere is the reason for Grandstaff opening up his recruitment.

This is complete speculation on my part. I never said this is from anyone inside the program. I just think Hoiberg told Grandstaff that Vaughn wasn't coming here.

Truth be told, Cubs is usually correct when he actually goes out on a limb and states something. I generally trust his sources as well as a couple others on here. It's the guys I don't know that I generally question.
