Re: Rashad Vaughn

The only way KU could further pile on their domination of us, would be for Vaughn to chose the Jayhawks, so I will assume that is what will happen until proven otherwise.

If Seldon leaves you can book it. Sucks but that's just the way it is. Hopefully leads to a blessing in disguise by us acquiring a top transfer.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Plus Jeff Graves and Tyrone Appleton. And those are just the ones that signed with KU recently.
I forgot about good ol' Jeff Graves, from right across the river from me at Iowa Western Community College, I believe. Is 2001 considered "recently"? It seems like a lifetime ago... Huh. Time flies.Appleton was 2007 or so and barely played. I forgot all about him. Thanks for the memories, mine seems to fail me!

Yeah, I kind of agree. I've just had a bad feeling the last month or so with Vaughn. Knowing he's waiting until Spring to decide, I'm assuming to see what teams have coming and going for the draft. As good as a relationship Fred has with him, I keep assuming he'll choose a blue blood over us. Cyclone nation, the team, and Fred have done all they can to persuade him. I hope I'm wrong and he chooses us, but KU and UK are unreal on obtaining talent and getting them to the NBA. Not that Fred can't do it, it's just tough to match up against the history of those programs being many years behind in the recruiting game. There's no doubt in my mind Fred will eventually get us there though, just a matter of time.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I think the kid simply is making sure Fred does not go to the NBA next year. Fred can tell him he is not, but lets face it other coaches tell kids they are not going anywhere, only to bolt after LOI is signed.

All kinds of articles about how Fred was made for the NBA, if I were the kid I would wait too.

James Franklin new Penn State football coach was being interviewed on ESPN and they asked him about kids an whether he would recruit any to Penn State. Basically he said that recruiting is all about relationship with the coach and while the institution plays a role in recruiting the kid has to be comfortable with the guy he is going to play for.

Bottom line the kid is close to Fred, he has to be 100% sure Fred is gonna be here next season. We all can say why would he go, but kinda hard to ask someone who really has no ties to the program, and has only visited a couple of times to go all in even if there is a .00001% chance that Fred would leave.

That is what this boils down to. If Fred stays I think the kid comes, if he goes, we will be looking for a coach and the kid will be playing at Kentucky or UNC next year.

No, I do not believe Kansas offered him a scholarship. I've never heard of him. The only JUCO recruit I can remember Kansas signing was Mario Little.

I knew the answer, actually.

On an off note, what has become of CyStorm? Does that guy know what his hands have wrought and what the epicness of this thread has become? Seems he has had no activity since the first few pages

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Sorry I should have put in the word I think before the start of the first sentence.

This place gets more like GOEMAW everyday..

The thing is, I'm not so sure that you do. I'm going to assume not, until proven otherwise.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Here's an observation from a, uh, recent CFH talk and Q&A. He discussed Nader, McKay and Custer, also said we're in on a few other recruits "you guys probably know about" but he can't talk about but isexcited about. He later discussed roles of coaches on the team. Doc and Mann scout teams, Abdelmassih is on the road all the time recruiting. J-Walt asked the last question, and asked, with a little smile on his face, how many times Abdelmassih has been out to Vegas. CFH gave a little chuckle and said quite a few.

This sequence of events makes me think that J-Walt thinks we're getting Vaughn.

That makes me think Matt has a gambling problem. Maybe CFH should get him the help he needs rather than enable him.
