Re: Rashad Vaughn

People are going to be shocked in a good way regarding McKay. He is that good.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

If Vaughn comes here, you could come up with 10 different lineups and each of them could be a legitimate possibility. It will be fun and exhausting.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Picking a fight against no one here. If Vaughn comes here, who doe he start in front of Hogue or Thomas? Or are you crazy enough to think a one and done comes off the bench?

Thomas as we need rebounds from Hogue since melvin will be gone.

As an ISU fan I am not sure how I would handle a talent overload problem.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Assuming Vaughn, I see:

1- Morris
2- Vaughn
3- Nader
4- Hogue
5- Niang

With Naz, Thomas and McKay first off the bench and playing about as many minutes as any of the starters. Custer, Edozie and SDW getting spot minutes.

Won't speculate who, but with McKay, Nader, Custer and Vaughn (hypothetical), some players will be getting passed up. Can't imagine that this wouldn't prompt a transfer or two.

I do not really see this as the case. Vaughn replaces Kane. Nader or McKay replaces Ejim while the other plays the back-up role we do not have filled this year. Custer joins SDW and Edozie as situational back-ups, although if we go with a 3-guard lineup perhaps SDW jumps up to a major back-up as the 5th guard. I do not see Custer beating out any of our returning guards as a freshman.

If Vaughn does commit to ISU, I think we see a lineup thread every day this summer.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Is Kane a point guard? If I recall correctly Vaughn has been seeing some minutes at the 1 for Findlay and Fred has shown he will play talent and make the other team adjust. What is a true 2/3 anyways? Seems like an oxymoron. Vaughn is a shooting guard that can play the 1-3 spots in college. There is no coach better than Hoiberg at utilizing a versatile playmaker like that and Vaughn, to the benefit of his career and ISU's success, would play minutes as the lead guard.

This is another reason Vaughn should come to ISU. What Vaughn needs to do to improve his stock is show he can facilitate the offense. Ask Royce, Clyburn and Niang how well Fred can do that for non-PGs.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Did anyone see that Draft Express has moved the Harrison twins to the 2015 draft?

“They both should stay in school for sure,â€￾ one NBA executive told SNY.tv. “Based on what we have seen from both of them so far this season, they are not ready to compete at the NBA level night in and night out. They are not even dominating right now at the college level.â€￾

I would think that might complicate the picture @ Kentucky for Rashad. They have Devin Booker and Tyler Ellis coming already, so add those two to the Harrisons and they really don't have a spot for RV.

Also have Rashad pegged as the #11 pick in the '15 draft.

I think that would simplify it. Kentucky would be completely out if that happened.

For similar reasons I think RV eliminates KU. His teammate (a 6'7" wing) is going there next year and they will likely return their entire backcourt sans Wiggins. Would Wiggins have helped his draft status going somewhere else?

Also, looks like Black, the Memphis player who transferred to KU for his senior year, may finish his career on the bench as the 5th post. If I were a transfer with only a couple years to play there is no way I am going to KU.

Even if Vaughn decides not to come play Hoiball that's a pretty good team. RV would be the icing on the cake that takes the team to a whole new level. As much as I love this current team, I can't wait to see what next season's team will do with the addition of Nader and McKay and the added experience for our young guards.
