"Okonoboh is the type of player who will make the team better without taking shots away from a guy like Vaughn. So the pitch to Vaughn is that he can come in and be the primary scoring option on a contending team with multiple NBA-caliber prospects"

Re: Rashad Vaughn

i will save you guys the time. " your the one on a iowa st thread". it seems like rashad wants to be the man but also be surrounded by good players. pretty sure he said it himself. Arn't any of you worried about who else rashad will be willing to play with?

Good players? How 'bout Georges Niang, Abdel Nader, Matt Thomas, Monte Morris, Dustin Hogue?

Yeah, that's a pretty good team that he would be able to play with. And those aren't freshman who may or may not be up to the task. Those are/ will be grown-*** men.

Pretty sure Rashad wants to get further than the first round of the NCAA tournament. Aren't you worried about how deep into March he would be playing at UNLV?

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Can we please stop the "my **** is bigger than yours" back and forth with UNLV fan? He may go to either school so let's leave it at that. It's totally ruining this thread.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Lets face it. If we get Vaughn - that might be enough to elevate our program to new levels. If we don't - things will still be fine. We have a great coach who is going to convince elite players to give him a shot at some point.

Still hoping that first player is Vaughn.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

The class they are putting together has to really interest RV. Also just 247 didn't have Goodluck going to UNLV.

I sure hope so, too. UNLV really worries me and we need Vaughn to make our class the year after that much better. This may really hurt our chances with Diallo, Davis, and Illikainen. Hope I'm wrong about both parts.

Yeah, in the next few years there are going to be a lot teams' fans that won't be able to decide which white guard that looks like he shouldn't even be in college on ISU's roster they can't stand the most.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Luckily when RV uses his official visit to UNLV he will still have his visit to ISU fresh in his memory since it is the week before. This helps a lot. If the UNLV/ISU visits were really spread out I'd say the advantage goes to the one closer to his spring decision which in this case is UNLV.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Why is this freaking everyone out. Being part of a big recruiting class and surrounded by blue chip players never was a strength for ISU. If this is so important to him, then he has options in UNC and KU that are better as well.

Our strength is Fred. He has a great relationship with Vaughn and his parents, has a very exciting style of play, and great NBA contacts. A distant 2nd is we are close to home. If, at the end of the day, those two aren't enough for him to commit, then was never going to come here, regardless of who commits where.
