Re: Rashad Vaughn

Yeah. Minnesota will feel it the most though. I know what it feels like to lose a local guy to an outside school. (#2 2012 Shabazz Muhammad. The sky fell that day.)

If we don't get him we'll be disappointed (most of us), but it won't hit us that hard like the Gopher fan base, especially considering how high their fan base thinks their chances are of landing him. Of any of the schools, him going to UNLV would have the least impact of the remaining schools against us in the case we don't land him. Obviously don't want him at Big 12 school, don't want him giving MN success as we're trying to get a pipeline there, everyone hates Roy from his KU days. Don't really care about him going to Arizona either I guess.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

The new Vaughn video is pretty sick. The kids gonna be an NBA all star one day. Wish him an injury free career regardless where he goes.

Oh and somewhat related, 5-star C Goodluck Okonoboh announces his decision today and many people think if he lands at UNLV that will help in the Vaughn sweepstakes.

[Not trying to crap on the thread. Just giving some other information. If Vaughn isn't at UNLV, ISU would be okay with me. Hate KU, UK, Duke and UNC snatching up all these guys]

Vaughn is going to have a short lived NCAA career anyway. If he could come out of HS, he would.
I think his ranking rises while at Findlay. Top 5 anyone?

If he doesn't go to ISU, I hope he goes to UNLV. Keep him far away from us. If he went to KU or Baylor I would be seriously disappointed.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

And now with actually info:

Travis Hines@TravisHines2115hWeek after ISU RT @ebosshoops: UNLV will receive an official visit from @ShowtimeMr Rashad Vaughn on November 25th.

This is Vaughns 3rd planned visit. Baylor, then ISU, then UNLV. There is also a UNC offical in the works so he can visit a basketball game.

What can we do to stop this? E-mail Pollard?

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I wouldn't be disappointed if he went to Baylor, I'd just laugh at how dumb he is.
Vaughn would be laughing at everyone else while he's heading to the bank to deposit his check that $cott Drew wrote for him. Drew is such a slimebag. Really hope he doesn't land this guy.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

What's with the negativity lately? We're still in a really good position, Hello Fred Hoiberg and Pick and Rolls with Georges.

Taking an official to UNLV could possibly mean that one of UNC, Arizona, and Kansas is potentially out of the running. One of them is looking like they won't get an official visit, unless he changes his mind on one of the Baylor or ISU visits.

I wonder if that is a big selling point that Fred is working. Georges is smart enough and skilled enough to make teams pay for a defensive decision/ action. Give him an elite scorer like RV, and the two will wreak havoc.

Continuing to digress, I know that RV would play the point from time to time this past summer. I think he wanted to show he can bring it up the floor, and initiate offense. Hopefully Kane will prove that Hoiberg is adept at creating situations for a guy who can play spots 1 - 3.

After Royce White I think Hoiberg has shown his offense can be molded to have any talented player with ball handling skills take it up.

Sure - Royce came to mind. But I think Kane will be (can be) a closer comparison, as he is kind of a combo-guard.

Kane will be gone by the time Vaughn comes in. Not sure why you're bringing that up in this thread. Either way, something, something, something, Rashad Vaughn, something, something, come to Iowa State.

Will be a legitimate example if how Vaughn could be utilized in a multitude of ways. I think it's a valid point to bring up...

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Can UNLV really be in serious contention or are they just the flavor of the month. Seems to me that Vaughn has been recruited by Fred and staff for EVER and yet the newcomers somehow get an official? Might just be that Vaughn wants to use his officials up since he already scheduled his 'top' schools (ISU, UNC, Baylor (??)) and can go to Minny when he goes home sometime.

If he uses his last official for AZ, then I still think we're fine. If he goes to Kansas, then I'll be worried.

Rashad, come to ISU. End the suspense for everyone else. You know the perfect time would be at the Michigan game in Nov...

He is using an official for Kansas, just doesn't have it scheduled yet. He said his 5 officials are going to be: ISU, Baylor, UNC, KU, and the last one was between UNLV and Arizona. Well he picked UNLV for his 5th. He will drive to AZ for an unofficial, but I feel like they are the odd man out right now.
