Move on. We believe in Fred.

Hope people aren't tweeting at him and making Cyclone community look bad.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

Don't forget the big national rivalry games with Colorado State and New Mexico!

Oh right, like how they got rocked by CSU by 18...not even SDSU can buy much airtime this year and they are in the top 5. The only way Vaughan is going to be a high first rounder is if he's just amazing, or he's pretty damn good for a great team. Dave Rice is not a great coach though, so I guess he'll just have to be amazing no matter what.

Yep, I was just going to say this. Matt sounds absolutely crushed. Send him an appreciation message for how hard he works for ISU

Sorry but beside Royce, Matt has t exactly lived up to this great recruiter we all though he would. He did bring is Sledge and Kerwin so at least he's got that going for him. Fire Matt and hire RV handler for all I care.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

I think the thing people are missing here is how many recruits we either passed on or cooled on by leaving this scholarship open. Someone before mentioned Nick Babb and J.P. Marcura. I'm not sure what happened with Cunningham, but that's another one. People have said "I'd rather have Georges Niang for 4 years than Nerlens Noel for 1." That's great and I completely agree. But while we held a scholarship open for "our Nerlens", we may have had to pass on a dozen "Georges'".

That does suck, but kind of the price you pay.

The bottom line is that based on the guys we have coming in right now, I really like our team for next year. I like Nader and McKay and Custer. We'll miss Mel and DeAndre like crazy. But we should still have a good team. We have two scholarships to go out and get a few more good players.

Like it has been said, you really, really have to feel for the staff. The teams that they have put together for 4 years have brought me a hell of a lot of joy. I wish that they were able to feel good about things today.

I feel like we are in the movie Armageddon except everyone that posted in this thread will get stuck on the asteroid (thread) at the end of the movie and get blown up

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

Dave Rice was a Rhodes Scholar candidate, coached at BYU, and has a great nonprofit. Obviously these don't mean he's not slimy, but I'm not quite sure where you're getting that from.

I believe there is another guy that was a great student, coached at Penn State and had a great nonprofit.

who cares. end of the day we have a great team next year and would dominate unlv if we played them. we missed out on a one and done and will end up with a player like Niang. Still have Fred. We win in life.

What bugs me most about how this last week or so played out:

Everyone: RV to UNLV!!!
RV: Trust me, no one knows where I'm going.

A week later.. UNLV it is.

Oh, you're right, no one knew where you were going...

Yeah and Jerry Sandusky had charity organizations for kids but does that make him a good person?
