In clear Lake for the parade, any other RTTers can swing by and say hi if they want.
We took our grandkids to the Ames parade a couple of years back. Big mistake. People were out there hours before-hand. We had four little girls with us, and had a long walk from parking to the route, only to be behind 3 layers of people standing up. The only kids who could see anything were the two youngest, because my son & Lew had them up on their shoulders.

I'm just not willing to go sit on a curb for several hours to have a good POV for a small town parade. And I hate crowds, so I'll probably never go to DC or the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. Guess I'm a grinch. :D

Parades generally suck.

Macy's is only good if they end up with a rogue balloon in the wind. Back in the day, when only rich people had the first color TVs, we'd end up at friends of the parents to watch a New Year's Day parade (Rose Bowl?) in color. Big deal than because we only had B&W. Was still boring to Little Boxster.

Doorbell just rang. Peaked out to see who it was (I don't have a fancy camera thingie). Some middle aged dude in shirt and tie carrying some book and chewing gum. Didn't feel like it's someone here to invite me to a 4th of July picnic. Did not answer the door, **** off, dude.

Had the Witnesses show up to my first house. Was nice to the guy. He kept trying to get in saying his grandfather lived there when he was a kid.

Well the guy kept showing up and trying to get in. It got to the point where he would see me and I had to just ignore the knocking.

Even being rude didn't get the guy to stop trying

I only answer the door when I have to.

Sprinkling. Should probably mow anyway since it's likely as dry as it will be till next week.

If I like the wait staff I'll tip them out so they get theirs. Other wise I pay when I'm done.

This was 10min into me coming in and I had ordered one beer so far. She acted really offended that I said keep it going. "Come on its just a beer"... I eventually closed it and tipped her 9 cents (rounded up). Felt like a little bit of an ******* but the whole thing was ridiculous.

I understand if I've been there for an hour or whatever but I don't close out after one beer.

Sitting in a car wash in Algona. Some rain, can hear a little thunder. Menacing clouds and the wind keeps picking up and dying. Radar looks bad. Trying to decide if I should just haul ass back to the hotel in Humboldt.
