We took our grandkids to the Ames parade a couple of years back. Big mistake. People were out there hours before-hand. We had four little girls with us, and had a long walk from parking to the route, only to be behind 3 layers of people standing up. The only kids who could see anything were the two youngest, because my son & Lew had them up on their shoulders. In clear Lake for the parade, any other RTTers can swing by and say hi if they want.
I'm just not willing to go sit on a curb for several hours to have a good POV for a small town parade. And I hate crowds, so I'll probably never go to DC or the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. Guess I'm a grinch.
