Think we're getting a cousin tomorrow. Sounds like the soon to be cousin is doing very well, it's mama's health they are watching. But stable for now.

Meanwhile somebaby took a step today and one of the parents shed a tear at how fast time has gone. Not going to name names but you know it was DH fo sho.

Things I've learned in the past week:

1. Parenting a newborn is very difficult and will challenge a couple

2. Child birth is very very messy

3. Recovering from birth isn't glamorous

4. Actually no part of child birth is glamorous.....

5. This will take some getting used to and there is ZERO chance we'll do this again

Ours was born July 12 (years ago, I’m not confused) and I honestly thought all these within a few hours. In fact, when it started getting real, all I could think of was “can I have just one more day before this happens?” Mother Nature heard, apparently, because my labor was 30 1/2 hours long. That is NOT what I meant.
CONGRATS and best wishes for good days ahead!

Pouring rain in Ames now. Guessing this will shut off all the unofficial fireworks around here for the night.

Somehow my credit card jumped out of my wallet and took off running out the front door.

Everything looked good to me. Location can't be beat. Staff was mostly people who had been there for 15+ years. Little man will be in good hands after he arrives.

Sounds awesome :)

I HATE FIREWORKS AND I HATE THE NEIGHBORS LIGHTING THEM OFF

I enjoy fireworks, but I would much rather have the 4th celebrated on the night of the 3rd (I know that sounds stupid, but you know what I mean).

Knowing I have to wake up for work tomorrow suuuuuucks right now with the constant noise going on outside. And my daughter getting 2 hours less sleep is less than ideal.

It doesn't surprise me, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Hopefully it will start winding down soon.
