And the Americade posts begin.

There is a motorcycle thing at Lake George NY. I went to grade school/high school with a guy that goes every year. He has to stop and post pictures and give updates on the way up which is like 275 miles. He posts like it is some epic road trip.
I've ridden to Des Moines and back for lunch which is about the same distance.

Placed an online order at 4:48a to pick-up at Target. It's almost 12 hours later exactly. Just checked my email and app...still not ready. TP, OTC medicine, a cleaning supply, and a tube of mascara. Not. That. Hard. Yes, please, SEND me the survey!

Still nothing in the 10a hour today. Call the store directly. They see no order on their end. Give me the 800 number. Yeah, my order somehow got hung up. They re-ordered, took off 10% for my troubles, ended that call about 10:40a. At 10:55a, I received a notice that my order was ready. Oh well...saved another $3.

Wherever I go, there I am.
Yes, we always got our assignments in that room with the kick-ass upholstered door.

Yeah, I'd kind of like one of those doors, but it doesn't really go with the rest of the decor at the office.

Corps say they are going to increase the output from Gavins Point yet again. Pacific Junction might cease to exist.

Measured thrice. Pulling out the hammer drill and the 1/2" x 12" concrete bit. Knowing my luck I'll hit a rebar. Hell, I think I KNOW I'll hit a rebar. A Boxster built concrete wall is hell for stout. Great until you need to drill through it.

Can't find the C-47 thread, but heard about this on MPR this morning:

https://www.duluthnewstribune.com/c...plicate-family-members-historic-normandy-jump

Dude is going to be jumping out of the very same plane his great uncle did on D-Day 75 years ago. How cool is that.
I'm not sure they covered the back story very well in the article. According to MPR: He was researching family history and found out what plane his great uncle was on. He found a plane in Sweden that had the same tail markings but thought "it couldn't be the same plane". He contacted Sweden about the plane and found out it was indeed the same plane. A couple years ago the Swedish contact called him back to tell him that the plane was going to be participating in the 75th anniversary re-enactment. He got in contact with US organizers and went to jump school so he could jump out of the plane in the re-enactment.

Cool story!

Does anyone else find the search function - even the advanced search function - in CF to be temperamental? I rarely use it unless I have to and more often than not never find what I am looking for.

If you hit a piece of rebar with a 1/2" hammer drill, you will need more than wine tonight. ;)

Did not. Bosch bit was rocking it. Passed on the spendier Milwaukee concrete bit that is supposed to cut rebar with it's four bladed tip.

Didn't finish the deck speaker project cause working in two rooms plus outside to string wire is time consuming doing it alone. Like 50 trips up and down the stairs and/or out the garage side door. And stuffing two wires into a single wire Legrand cord channel didn't make things go any faster.

Will hang the speakers tomorrow.

Lew's driving his mom & two sisters to KS in the Butzbus so that his mom can see her brother & SIL, perhaps for the last time. They can't travel, and it's a real project to take her someplace that far.

I potted some plants, and now I'm kicking back to watch what is shaping up to be a truly awful movie: Poseidon Rex. So far, they have been able to talk despite having scuba mouthpieces in their mouths, and they set an explosion that they detonated after swimming a few dozen feet away. Somehow they managed to avoid having all of the bones in their bodies shattered from the concussion wave. :D
