Hazy here tonight so the sunset wasn't as great as last night. I took pictures so I'll see how they look later on.

Lew's driving his mom & two sisters to KS in the Butzbus so that his mom can see her brother & SIL, perhaps for the last time. They can't travel, and it's a real project to take her someplace that far.

I potted some plants, and now I'm kicking back to watch what is shaping up to be a truly awful movie: Poseidon Rex. So far, they have been able to talk despite having scuba mouthpieces in their mouths, and they set an explosion that they detonated after swimming a few dozen feet away. Somehow they managed to avoid having all of the bones in their bodies shattered from the concussion wave. :D
Oh, wow...that was excruciating!!!

So did you post this flick in the bad movie column?

Update 3 weeks done post surgery for those who care (@cowgirl836 and @ImJustKCClone). Ankle is feeling better but still swollen a bit. The bruising is going down a bit at least and according to my surgeon last week I'm making good progress to returning on time (start walking after 6 weeks...100% after 12-16 weeks). I got put in a walking boot from a cast last week at my 2 week checkup. I took a look at my ankle for the first time today...disgusting. I can't imagine what it looked like when it was dislocated...poor people who played basketball with me. Pain's tolerable (2-3 out of 10) but can feel edema building throughout the day. I get intense stings before I go to bed which last 5-10 seconds once/twice a night (pain at 7-8 out of 10)...not sure why that's happening but hopefully they stop in a week or two.

I hope to start walking in 3 weeks but we'll see, that's my next appointment. I've done some research and it sounds like I have a bimalleolar ankle fracture but I have an additional fracture across the top of my ankle. Most people with 3 fractures have a trimalleolar fracture but the 3rd fracture is across a different part than mine. No ligaments torn or open fracture so I think I'll be 100% in 3 months. I've been doing some non-weight bearing stretches to try to get my ankle ready to start walking when I can start weight bearing again.

Hopefully everyone here is doing well!

Random: Sometimes when I bike the lakes I see dudes out on skateboards. Most with earbuds in, of course. I am guessing NONE of them are listening to Jan and Dean Sidewalk Surfin'. I can't help but hear:

Shout "Cowabunga" now and skate right on through
Grab your board and go sidewalk surfin' with me

Yay for improvement! I hope you're walking soon. Boo on the night stings.
Did they put metal in? I never had stings from the surgeries on my arm, but when I had my foot surgery, she put a small plate & four screws to hold the bones in alignment. That's the first time I've ever had those "stings", as you refer to them. The every night version lasted for quite a while, then it went down to once or twice a week. Overall, lasted about a year, year & a half. Hopefully it won't be like that for you.

Yup! I have a plate with 9 screws in it. The sting is happening around top of the plate is at so you might be right! Mine don't last very long thankfully but I don't understand why they happen right before bed?

Somebody asked to see the picture of it.

I don't get the night thing either, although mine were actually right after I would climb into bed. My foot didn't hurt during the day (although I have had to change the type of shoes I wear so that there is no pressure on the top of my foot), but then when I went to bed, zappo! I thought maybe it was because when I was laying there quietly I was noticing it more.

As for the gross fat ankle, you should really tag Pants on that one. He just LOVES gnarly foot photos! :D

In case you missed it in the equip sale thread...

Yes. Yes he did get it. Dark gray crewneck with I-State on one side of the chest, Nike swoosh on the other.

Makes me wonder who else’s items they’re holding back. It’s not like this (size or name) would be easy to overlook in the back of a storage closet.

Ah, Saturday projects. If you need #10 screws you will have #6, #8, #12 on hand in various sizes but you will have no #10's.

Ace Hardware store run time, no way I am running that Home Depot/Costco parking lot gauntlet today.
