I've heard Haiti is cheaper...We have our spring break trip planned finally. We'll be going to the beautiful beaches of the Dominican Republic.
Nope. Going with one other family. We invited a few others but they all say they're too busy or too good for us or something.Leaving the kids home?
From the SNL skit "Bad Idea Jeans":I've heard Haiti is cheaper...
Yes. One of the best SNL fake commercials ever! From the SNL skit "Bad Idea Jeans":
Normally I wear protection, but then I thought, “When am I gonna make it back to Haiti?”
So you're taking the key party on the road?Nope. Going with one other family. We invited a few others but they all say they're too busy or too good for us or something.
Any of you want to go?
I still get email updates from Uconn, West Virginia and Tulsa because I bought tickets through them for past games. Did that seating view link I posted help you decide on tickets?Speaking of Lawrence - they must track StubHub purchases. I received this email this morning:
thank you for your purchase
Dear "KC",
Kansas Athletics thanks you for your recent ticket purchase. Your purchase helps create one of the best gameday atmospheres in all of college sports!
As a ticket purchaser, you are set to receive Jayhawk Updates including the latest Jayhawk news and updates. You can define the information you prefer to receive based on your interests.
I know it was probably a "no response" email, but I replied anyway:
Yeahhhhhh, about that...
Hard pass...
I'm a Cyclone.
They may never see it, but it made ME feel better! (and yes, the smiley was part of my reply)
Gonna be down that way around that time already. April 1 - 18 we're cruising from San Diego to Miami via the Panama Canal. Gives us a new continent (South America) and several new countries, including one (Cuba) that none of my family have been to before - so that's a win for me! Unless some cotton-headed ninny-muggins puts the tourism embargo back on Cuba...Nope. Going with one other family. Just one other couple. Lamest key party ever.So you're taking the key party on the road?
I didn't see it until after I bought the tickets. I was having a similar conversation with posters in the "Kansas was destroyed" thread, so I didn't come back to this one. Lew finally said "why don't you just call KU?". So I called them, gave them the seat numbers of the three pairs we were looking at, and made my decision based on that. The convo with the dude at KU was kind of frustrating:I still get email updates from Uconn, West Virginia and Tulsa because I bought tickets through them for past games. Did that seating view link I posted help you decide on tickets?
Ah. That's $85 tickets...better price, but the guy told me that those would be nearly full within 15 minutes of the doors opening for that game. Yeah, I finally called the ticket office to get a better idea of where the seats actually are, and which way they face. He said for section 14, they needed to be seats 1-6, and the row we were looking at (21) was halfway up the upper part of . So I said, 13 & 14 would put me parallel to the court, while 1-6 would give me an angle view? And he kept saying "but 13 & 14 are closer to the court!". It doesn't make any difference if I have to lean out to try to see around the people next to me!!!
We opted to move around the corner to sec 13, row 11. From the looks of it, we will have nearly the same angle we have at Hilton, and maybe slightly closer. I can live with that.![]()
We'll be there in early to mid March. The Canal cruises are supposed to be pretty cool.Gonna be down that way around that time already. Is it supposed to snow this weekend?
More like these, really:We'll be there in early to mid March. The Canal cruises are supposed to be pretty cool.
In Cuba, you should see lots of cars like the ones you remember when you were little.

Ames. We haven't had much yet in Story County. Actually, we haven't even had an inch yet. At least I don't think we have...

I've been trying to explain to Lew that no, he can't fit five or six of them in the cargo hold.
They actually have one shore excursion there that consists of renting one of these gems to drive around Havana for a couple of hours. At $450 each, that was a hard NO. Lew's letting me geek out there; our shore ex is going to be agriculturally related. But I do plan to pick up some cigars for family while there.![]()
