Reminds me of a story told to me several years ago when I toured the Marvin Windows plant up in northern Minnesota. The tour guide told us a customer paid the major up-charge for their windows and doors to be completely made from walnut for a complete home, then had the installer paint them all white. What a waste of beautiful natural wood!
Upgrade to walnut and then have it painted? Makes sense

Not exactly sure.
Wife's nephew hurt his arm playing basketball. Apparently tried to block a shot and hit the wall. I have no idea how this happens, but this is the same kid who has injured himself by running into walls. Kid has site problems and wears glasses to try to pull them from being cross eyed.

He is slated to probably get a school permit soon, I'm actually nervous about him being on the road. If he has such poor depth perception that he hits walls and breaks his arm trying to block shots, how will he stop in time if he sees a kid on a bike, if he sees them at all.

Don't they administer a vision test (including peripheral vision)?

Yeah, but I think his depth perception is the issue. He seems to be able to see stuff, but I know the parents have made statements about him not being about to see distances well. Those vision tests are only a short distance and the side lights are fairly easy. I know the test lady and I could sweet talk her if I needed to. The mom works there also, so I think this kid will be turned loose. I don't see him failing the vision test and in small towns, I doubt the drivers ed teacher will force him to drive.

It’s a beautiful day outside. Supposed to keep getting better all the way through the weekend hope everyone has had a chance Tom get out and enjoy the day some. Drive crazy that my auto check changes to Tom Tom many times.

Love when some people get their undies in a wad and go all loco and when their mistakes are pointed out they edit and try to change things up. I wonder if they don’t know that it shows To everybody else that you edited but not you. Guess it’s too hard to stay civil and rational.

He'd get along fine with tRump, then.

one has the ability to blame it on youthful ignorance. I didn't like steak til my mid/late 20's. Never had a nice one growing up............there's irony in that somewhere.

@Angie do you have enough Friday off topic ideas? Something popped up in my head, but I know there have been a handful of suggestions given to you already.

I have NOTHING for tomorrow. On those days, I usually just go with whatever whim goes through my head, but I'd definitely appreciate ideas!

on the wood topic......my parents are thinking about doing some minor logging in our timber that's probably overdue and been batted around for 10 years. They have some cherry and walnut trees (maybe one each, I don't remember) in there that my mom is thinking about splitting among us kids to have stuff made out of from 'farm wood'. Which I think is really cool. But I think they'd just give us the wood and then we go get it made into stuff. My mom is like it'd be a decent amount cause they are bigger trees or something so you could get cabinets done. Well......I already have those plus that seems not......heirloomy? Like, what happens if we move or want to redo the kitchen or something. I was thinking like bedroom furniture, dining hutch, stuff like that. But IDK how that even works. Nothing set in stone yet but the painting wood topic made me think of it.
