Seeing humans in place where you realistically should not be seeing humans is one of the most terrifying things ever.

And as someone with high anxiety and a hatred of social interactions, sometimes even seeing humans where they’re supposed to be is terrifying.

Humans are the worst.

Look no further than the fact that they left a cigarette burning on the forest floor.

And the possible stalking you thing.

Apparently the security firm I hired to monitor my PC has gone out of business and I have 2 years left on my contract. I'm supposed to call so they can refund me.

I'm half tempted to call and see how they plan on scamming me.
I had to listen to it about 10 times to figure out the number to call. No one answered:(

My reaction might be a BIT stronger because my tween/teenaged bedroom has a cherry bedroom set that belonged to my great-grandmother. Two twin beds, nightstand, vanity with bench, and a tall chest of drawers. They're pretty banged up, but I would NEVER think to paint over them. Oy.

So along those lines, some family (who we don't talk to - not because of this exactly though) took similarly aged and types of furniture after a great-grandmother died. It was beautiful furniture but they thought it needed cleaning up or some **** like that, so they got it refinished. Saw it once afterward and it looked like kindling wood it was so dry and dull. Looked completely stripped.

We have cherry cabinets in our house now and I be super pissed if it got painted over.

Half time of the game and I started channel surfing and came across the Robin Williams movie "Toys" (1992)
Joan Cusak is wearing a virtual reality headset much like an Occulus.

I think Joan Cusak has to be in my top 5 favorite actors of all time. Rarely the star but always shines.

@Angie Might be a good Friday OT some day. Best supporting actors. People that rarely star but always steal the show.

Just finished watching "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs". I'm a big fan of Cohen Brothers movies (O Brother Where Art Thou? is one of my all-time favorites) and this one was no exception. Beautiful scenery and a rollercoaster of emotions. I love the premise of the movie; it's usually hard for me to sit through long movies but the 6 short stories kept me interested and they each struck a perfect balance of telling a story without dragging it out. Definitely will watch it again.

Gosh, that's a toughie. I became estranged from one grandmother when she pulled some stuff at my mother's funeral (I was 23 at the time). Basically, she forced my grieving father into some things that he didn't want to do, and blamed him for my mother's death. My mother collapsed with a subdural hematoma (brain aneurysm); my sister performed CPR and when the paramedics got there they got her on life support and transported her to the hospital where she remained comatose. On the second, third, fourth days she had a total of 3 flat-line EEGs. By the fifth day she had developed a massive, systemic staph infection (she had osteomyelitis from the age of 13 on so she always harbored staph in her body). We made the decision to take her off life support as she was no longer "there". My father was NOT to blame for my mother's death. The aneurysm was.
My grandmother died about 9 years later. I have no regrets about having no contact with her in the interim.

Siblings - I will always love my sisters. However, we are very different people, and sometimes I don't like them very much. But if one of them needs me, I'm there.

Kids & Grandkids - same as my siblings.

I'm curious as to why you asked.
Netflix documentaries on "innocent" people in jail. I would still support all of the above, I think to the point that as long as they didn't rape or kill another family member intentionally. That was just my RT at the moment triggered by Jason OP.

Know the family of a guy who killed a few people and a couple kids and the whole family still believes and supports him. I think killing kids would probably do it for me.

Welp summary of my trip to Stillwater. Left at 5 got down there around 2-2:30, met a guy to discuss some stuff. Got to OSU campus about 3:30 walked around a bit Probably my favorite non ISU campus I've visited. They've done a good job of maintaining their central greenspace and wrapping new buildings around old to make it look pretty open. Lots of brick very little poured cement buildings. People are friendly.

Really like Gallager Iba Arena I'd say it's the 2nd best arena in the B12 with Hilton being 1st (ISU bias showing thru) Seating is actually a little roomier both seat wise and knee wise than Hilton. When they went on that run at the end of the 1st half it got pretty loud even with as few as people as were there. I ended up with free tickets to the game wandered into the ticket office and asked how much they were The gal said free a donor bought a bunch and said just give them away. Couldn't pass that up. Never saw anyone scalping.

I believe Eskimo Joes is OSU's version of Hickory Park with a little bit more booze. Plenty of menu choice and a pretty good value. Had the pulled pork it was above average. The cheesy frees looked awesome but a plate of them really would need to be shared IMO.

Thank goodness we got the win. The game is never easy when we play the Pokes. Really good fan base both before and after the game. TCU might be the only friendlier fan base I've met. OSU has a talented pom squad. Great trip so far. Maybe one more meeting tomorrow then back north.

As a lumber guy, I always cringe when I see fine woodwork (especially cherry, OMG don't people know how much it costs?) being painted over. I know the trend is toward paint, rather than stain, but like @RunninMan, I'm a traditionalist and much prefer the warmth of stained wood.

Years ago, I had an old three-drawer, curved front dresser that we had inherited from the in-laws. It had been painted (many times), so I looked underneath to see if it might be worth restoring. It looked like either birch or maple, so I decided to give it a shot.

Long story short, upon stripping it I discovered it was birds'-eye maple. After a bit of light sanding, I hand-rubbed several coats of tung oil into the veneer.....it was absolutely gorgeous. Almost made you dizzy looking at it.

Now, who would paint over that? Here'e an example:
