This.

When we were in the hurry up offense, we ran all over them, why did we stop?

ISU would be marching down the field then a UNI player would get a "cramp" and the offense would stall and end the drive.

shoot i am not even sure if richardson can make it through the year; rohack is probably going to be playing by necessity. richardson just cannot take the hits. and all the sacks in the second half; my gosh thanks oline; way to protect your qb. we had the game won; we were down 20-21 got the ball back. we had been slowing beating away at that 21-7 deficit and the defense was starting to get some moementum; then bam; a failed screen pass [thanks oline]; and then 3rd and richardson got sacked; game over. could not see the receivers routes well cause of the tv coverage. the running backs seems good to me.

Honestly that one was on Richardson. 3rd down, you are down by 8, the game is on the line, and you eat a sack? Just launch it up there if nothing else. He played well and I in no way would do anything but want him to continue to be our QB for the next three years but he's got to be willing to take some risks in situations like that.

I'm sorry but this is messinghams fault. An OC should know his personnel and what do to in order to make his offense successful.

Why? Was it Messingham who whacked Farniok, a 27 game starter and potential "most improved" player on the team, and put him out of the game?

A lot of you guys are blithely ignoring the fact that, after a slow start, the offense was moving the ball up and down the field--until Farniok got hurt. 370 yards of offense midway in the 3rd quarter is a lot of yardage.

I think Sam was thinking more about ball security. We'll never know either way, and I don't agree with his decision, but if none of the WRs are open then id rather he eat a sack than try to force something and get an int.

Did anyone else think Sam Richardson was slow to pull the trigger in the 2nd half? He obviously was under pressure but I thought he had some guys open when he got to the back of his drop and just stared at them. From the stands it appeared that we had guys open and enough time to get it there, but it just wasn't happening. Also, where was Brun last night? Was something wrong, I didn't notice him on the field much.
This was what happened to Steele. Starts out with the intention to throw the first half, then scrambles all the time the second half as the lesser of two evils for him. Is it the pressure of making a turnover when losing or just not having confidence in oline?

Then forty yards the rest of the way.

O-line

A consistent offense can only exist if the o-line gets the job done. I was hoping to see a change with a new o-line coach. It might be too much to expect a dramatic change in 1 game. UNI is also a tough opponent because they bring blitzes from all directions.

Like most people, I thought the offensive staff did a poor job giving our guys the best chance to win. It is no coincidence our offense struggled after Farniok got hurt- the center does make the line calls. But our staff didn't get Richardson out of the pocket in sure passing situations. If the opposition is getting to your QB, continuing to use 4&5 WR sets is guaranteeing failure. Bring Woody in to block. Keep a TE in to block. When 2nd and short situations arise, run the ball!! Get the first down.

Lastly, some peoples pet peeve is sweet caroline. Mine is the "Another Cyclone First Down" chant. Maybe we should set the aspirations for offensive achievement a little higher!

yeah what the heck is the deal there; in the second half almost every pass we only kept 5 back for protection and sam still couldnt find an open receiver. should have put a tight end on the left side. its almost like the offensive coaches see this stuff but hope it just goes away so can stick with their exact game plan.
