holesI think Prime Rib is a little overrated personally, would rather have a nice ribeye or porterhouse. Prime rib is from the standing rib roast. Get a big slab, salt & pepper like crazy...cut some slits and slide garlic into the wholes, fill with rosemary. Roast til juices come out clear...great stuff. Standing rib roast makes decent steaks too when cut and grilled.
Isn't 801 Grand the restaurant at the top of the Principal Building?
I can't believe no one has mentioned Chicago Speakeasy yet.
How do you cook yours?
Can see this being a great coupon, but I have a menu question. Would you really spend $30+ on meat and then pay extra for starch and veggies?! It seemed that way on the menu...
On the smoker. Rub it up with either a coffee rub or Blazing Blend Kansas City Steak. you will never cook one in the oven again.
Iowa beef steakhouse. Maybe its on a poorer side of town, but its delicious. Also a lot of places downtown offer specials on stuff like that. If you have big money, I'd recommend 801 grand (best I've ever had, but it was very very expensive) If not, chicago speakeasy also has some decent prime rib. Now I'm hungry
Until you have a steak at a place that costs $30+ for an ala carte steak, you haven't had a really good steak, IMO. There is a difference between a meal at 801 (or other places like it) and lower or mid range steak houses, even though you feel some pain when they hand you the check.
