I think the math has changed on a lot of this stuff... if you're an elite football program that's all you care about. A dollar spent on a basketball player is a dollar not spent on a 2nd string long snapper.Yes and when Ohio State offers 4 times what we can, going to be an issue.
You got Purdue, and then per Kenpom you have 10 schools between #8 (BYU) and #9 (KState) in the Big 12.But the BIG is coming in with hot garbage.
14. Purdue
17. Indiana
22. UCLA
25. Rutgers
I'm just talking about all sports in general.I think the math has changed on a lot of this stuff... if you're an elite football program that's all you care about. A dollar spent on a basketball player is a dollar not spent on a 2nd string long snapper.
15 years ago they were limited on how they could spend money so they kept building bespoke facilities and made a couple final fours as a hobby.
i think there's an opportunity for schools that have good basketball program and legit passionate fans to capitalize on it. You see that with ISU
That team was so good, they should have won the Natty (even beating MSU on any floor not located in Mich).Gave an "agree," then checked -- actually #3 for one week in 1956-57.
4th was next-highest
2023-24: 1 week … Final: 8th
2015-16: Twice (#5 a week in between) … Final: 22nd
1996-97: Twice (consecutive weeks) … Final: 18th
For those wondering, 1999-00 highest was #6.
How does the B1G continue to be this bad?But the BIG is coming in with hot garbage.
14. Purdue
17. Indiana
22. UCLA

Hlas even ranked us #5. That had to hurt.
**** the media personalities in the AP poll in basketball as well. **** the SEC media bias ********.
9 SEC basketball schools.
6 Big 12 schools.
"In one shining moment, you knew..."
Clemson coach will still cry like a little baby about the Big12 rigging the system.ISU is scheduled to face the following ranked teams:
#1 Kansas (H & A)
#4 Houston (A)
# 8 Baylor (H)
#10 Arizona (H & A)
#11 Auburn (N)
# 18 Marquette (H)
#20 Cincinnati (H)
And possibly #9 North Carolina and #3 UConn, depending on how the Maui Invitational plays out.
Want to be the best? Then beat the best. LET'S GO!!!
senile.Reddit has pointed out that Hlas voted for UConn twice at 1 and 23, and gave High Point a vote.
He just doesn't look at the "State" part and fantasizes it's the Hawkeyes.Hlas even ranked us #5. That had to hurt.
I’ve wanted so badly to hear that corny, beautiful, wonderful song with Iowa State as the final image holding the national championship trophy."In one shining moment, you knew..."
Did Isheem Young transfer for $$$? I know it's a different sport, but wasn't that why? Unfortunately he didn't amount to much after leaving ISU.oh 100%. However, as of now, I believe the only player that truly transferred for $$$ was Hunter. IMO the other players that have transferred went down a level, because again, they want to play
Good pull. I had forgotten about him. And now that you mention it, did Craig McDonald do the same thing?Did Isheem Young transfer for $$$? I know it's a different sport, but wasn't that why? Unfortunately he didn't amount to much after leaving ISU.
McDonald might have, but now he's stuck on Minnesota after he couldn't hack it at Auburn and isn't amounting to much. Both Young and McDonald didn't seem to amount to much after leaving ISU. Young had one good season at Mississippi then couldn't follow it up the following year. Now he's at North Texas and hasn't played a snap yet. That just goes to show you that ISU gets the most out of their guys and they aren't the same after leaving.Good pull. I had forgotten about him. And now that you mention it, did Craig McDonald do the same thing?
Also, good thing Hunter transferred out. Lipsey as a true freshman was far better than anything Hunter became.oh 100%. However, as of now, I believe the only player that truly transferred for $$$ was Hunter. IMO the other players that have transferred went down a level, because again, they want to play
