What does everyone have for a prediction? I think the defense is as sound as we have seen for a long time. I think field position plays a huge role in this game as Kirby will continue to be a weapon pinning teams deep in their own territory. Like I mentioned yesterday, its one thing to have drives of 40-50 yards, its another to have 85-95 yard drive continuously. With our defense not giving up the big play, it makes opponents grind 10-12 play drives to score points. Its also been since early 3rd quarter of the Tulsa game since we have given up a touchdown. I think this Tech team reminds me a lot of Tulsa with a decent defense and experience on the defensive line, serviceable linebackers and an inexperienced group in the secondary. On offense they have good skill players and running backs like Tulsa and a better throwing quarterback but one that, unlike Green, will stay in the pocket. I just see no way they again stop our running game, I think, as a unit, this offensive line is as good if not better than last season and our passing game will be threat. We will hold the ball the majority of the game and keep turnovers to around 1 while forcing Tech's fumble prone running to 2 turnovers and our solid secondary forces a pick. I dont discount how their non conference schedule may play in this game. They have never been behind the 8 ball in any game, facing no adversity, they have not seen the speed we will present, and they have yet to leave Texas this season. Right now you can say you know more about Iowa State than you know at any position for Texas Tech. Tuberville has yet to out coach Rhoads and has won really nothing in 2 years outside of beating Oklahoma. This is a 5-7 team from last year, with some bad losses and in football you dont change overnight especially if the coach may not be the right fit. Give me a better coached team, the home team, and a 4-0 start for the Clones. ISU 31-20.

Way up there
I don't think we'll have as much sucess running them ball against them as we've had in the past, we had 2 QB's much better at the zone read play (which torched Tech) the last 2 years. That sucess will open some things up for Steele in the passing game. I think they will move the ball against us, similar to the way Tulsa did. I think it's a tight game where whomever wins the turnover battle winnig the game. I like ISU 34-24.

Our defense does fairly well against a Big 12 offense, but we give them too many possessions and our offense can't keep up

Heart: Tech 41 ISU 34

Head: ISU 34 Tech 28

Wallet: taking ISU if laying 3 or fewer points. Taking Tech if getting 7 or more points.

I also predict that Ricky Sailor still has nightmares about Michael Wagner

How do you arrive at that? Our squad has given up 8 TO's in three games including averaging 3.5 TO's in the last two games. Tech has exactly half of that number, 4 TO's in their three games. You might play the cupcake card and say well they haven't faced a real team yet, but in the Cyclones' one cupcake game they still turned it over 3 times, just one shy of Tech's season total.

I'm confident that ISU can play with Tech in many facets of the game. Right now I am not confident that ISU will win the turnover battle. Any Cyclone fan who has been paying attention should be concerned about this facet of our team's performance.

Preseason I said. ISU 35 tech 28

"Massey" or whoever says ISU 31 tech 28.

I'll stick with somewhere a long those lines. A tight game with Iowa state pulling out a win in the end.

Well, we beat them 41-7 last year. Take away their 3 points for homefield, and give us 3 points for homefield. Then give them 1 point for having a new JUCO Linebacker. Take away 7 points from us from them having a new DC. Give us 2 points for the intagibles from Bueker's captaincy.

ISU 39 - TTU 5

The math is there, folks.

Seriously, 34-31 ISU.
