I actually respect their adherence to keeping the Sabbath holy. I just don't want to deal with an entire conference having to deal with scheduling around their beliefs. I still remember the kerfluffle around the NCAA tournament when they "couldn't be placed in any bracket that played on Sunday". :)

Yup. That’s why I’d only take their football program. Problem solved.

HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!! Just like Rutgers was going to expand the B10 foot print/NYC market what a bunch of crap. New England/NY is pro sports territory they wouldn't give 2 cents about the B12.

Both Rutgers and Maryland bring BTN $25 million apiece under the current contract. Now with cord cutting, they may be a liability to the league in the future, but each brings in more money than Nebraska, currently.

UCONN is never going to happen and shouldn't. Like others have said, if OU and Texas stay, the league will have a good thing going. We are only 5 years outs, but I think both will stay right where they are. The money difference for each will not be worth what they would lose by leaving the conference.

You do realize that was for TV purposes, right? More exposure in the area, and leverage with networks? I don’t pay that much attention, but I thought I saw the BIG Network got a bump in revenue after that. Am I mistaken?

Pretty sure the other teams in the Big Ten are doing fine and dandy recruiting in that area, too. Kids’ families can see every game on TV.

If we had a Big 12 Network, there are much worse things we could do than adding UConn as an all sports member.

Of course, lacrosse might be a problem...

This is not a good argument. That area of the country is probably one of the weakest for football recruits. I think Iowa produces more D1 football players per year than New York City does. Now basketball is a different story.
Yes the city has trash players but the State as a whole does not.

What I'm saying is that if you are going to make decisions on who to invite into the conference based on recruiting territory, there are much more fertile areas of the country than New England. Now, if you were talking Pitt, which is in the same general vicinity, that's a different story. Let's invite Georgia Tech if recruiting territory is the priority.

I have always liked the idea of Pitt in the Big 12 tbh.

I like the round robin we have now, but it would have been nice to add Pitt and have that rivalry with WV as a Big 12 matchup, considering all the rivalries the conference has lost through realignment. Add Louisville and we'd have been back to 12. Again, like our current situation.

I just assumed he got into @Doc's recreational stash and couldn't handle the effects. ;)

Got a little paranoid and had to check. Still all there! I actually have some marijuana stroopwafels. Being NWICY, I figure you know what those are :).
