It isn't West Des Moines, but I'd encourage you to check out Polito's in Boundarant. Excellent pizza that isn't greasy. I hear they're coming to Ankeny soon.

I've never been, but I've heard great things about Red Rossa:
RedRossa Napoli Pizza Sioux Falls South Dakota

It's localish. It's located right next to Granite City brewery.

I have eaten there pretty often and it is by far my favorite pizza since DaVinci's in Ames closed. Thin crust, wood fire baked, fast service and absolutely YUMMY.

You will not be dissapointed there.

Nothing is better then late night Dominos. Eating a couple pieces and then going to bed. Waking up the next morning and eating cold left out all night Dominos for breakfast. Reminds me a lot of my college days.

Live in Ankeny and never have tried it. Might have to sometime. Anything special to order?

If you like thin crust, then you can't go wrong there. I'd get an order of onion rings or salad with their homemade creamy garlic dressing and order "the potter" for pizza. All their pizza toppings are good though.

I know this is a little bit of a drive but the best pizza I ever had was in Rome

It may not look good but it was amazing and yes that's an egg in the middle.

It's unfortunate you're only looking in West Des Moines for good Pizza. If you wouldn't mind taking a short drive; I Recommend "Chuck's" on 6th and Euclid in the Oak Park area of Des Moines. Their Pizza is absolutely unbelievable, even better than the famous pizza hubs in Chicago!! Great thin crust pizza with Lots of Cheese and toppings, an authentic Italian pizza construction!!

Also if you decide to go, order the onion rings, it is a Northside favorite!!!

I'm looking for a recommendation for great pizza in the West Des Moines area. Prefer somewhere I have never been. (no chains) Deep Dish is not an option.. prefer traditional thin crust.

Momma Lacona's or Felix and Oscars?? or something else? I have had Tavern, Paradise Pizza, Angelo's.

As long as you are going out of West Des Moines, then try Noah's Ark for pizza on Ingersoll and Big Tomato on Ingersoll as well. Both are great. Big Tomato is fantastic.

I have been here as well. The owner is a really young guy and a former ISU student (I believe).

Simon isnt a former ISU student, but he is a great guy. He will probably bring you out free dessert if they arent swamped. Love the baked pasta there.

You want good Pizza your on the wrong side of town. You have to go to the Southside.

Scornovaccas
Bordenaro's
Corigliano's
Barratas

There are 4 of the best pizza places in the United States. Also if you ever make it to Norwalk try Villaggio.

I actually consider myself an expert in this field.

You my friend are absolutely correct, this place is amazing. You get 5 pounds of breadsticks for $2, they are great! Cheap, fast, and tasty. I had leftovers for 2 more days after paying $9.

Felix and oscars is HORRIBLE, it will put you on the crapper for days, and it is deep dish chicago style. It is just a bowl of undercooked dough and grease.

Tavern has great thin crust pizza.

You forgot the IMO...

As far as thin crust in WDM, The Tavern is about the only option. Chucks or anywhere on the southside is better though...
