We make half of them that we missed and this game is at least in reach.

Anyone that has ever said free throws don't matter is full blown dur.

Where are the "FTs don't matter" apologists that seem to be all over CF?
Well to be fair, we could have been 37/37 from the line and it wouldn’t have mattered. I’ve seen teams shoot far worse than 67%. Kinda silly to dwell on that. Never seen anyone say that FTs aren’t important though.

On a semi-related note, I thought it was quite something for Lard and Young to be our best free throw shooters tonight instead of our backcourt.

Young frequently is very solid at the line. You can tell he works at it. Not sure on Lard, he seems solid, but the freshmen are doing freshman things. Its going to be a struggle.

ISU shot 25/37, or 67% last night. Their season average is 72.4% which they would have hit with just 2 more free throws, so not really as poor of a shooting night from the FT line based on their prior performance. They lost because they regressed defensively primarily in the areas of pick-and-roll and 3-pt defense.
