Got my tics last night and I am in the same lot as the previous 3 years (B5).

I'm sure that it is rough to find out that you lost your spot due to an increase in demand. I wouldnt be happy but it sounds like those in this situation were actually getting upgraded because of a lack of demand, in reality you were getting something that you werent paying for and now that you are not you're ticked about it. Again I understand that its inconvienent but in reality someone else "earned" that spot because they donated more or they donated the same amount but have seniority.

As others have said this will likely drive some folks to think about donating more cash if their budget allows to ensure the desired lot. If your budget doesnt allow then as a fellow donor and fan please continue to do what you can to support the program and continue your current donation level. Either way its a win for the ISU AD.

Can we ask what you had to donate to get b5? I hope I get that lot again, I am cardinal +.

Dont you get "priority points" based on how much you donate, how long you donate, how long you have been buying season tickets, etc.? I'm pretty sure they placed everyone in parking spots based on those priority points, and if you didn't get where you wanted, its because others had more points then you and deserved a better spot then you. Its a pretty simple formula!

Not for parking.

Looks like priority is given based on current giving level. And no lots are guaranteed. The published map is an estimated representation.

Points are used for seating, and tickets to special events.

Actually, I believe priority points are also used for parking pass preference within a given donation level. For instance if there are 100 cardinal donation level folks for only 50 spots and all 100 indicated preference for a certain lot then they would go by priority points within that donation level. The top 50 with points would get the parking passes.

However, if a States 250 guy has been donating for 20yrs and has more priority points than a guy who for the first year donates $500 (Cardinal). The first year donor will get preference here over the states 250 donor.

The NCC pages at cyclones.com are ambiguous. One says seating/tickets. One says tickets/parking. The member benefit PDF makes no distinction, just lists a priority number.

On my parking passes it says donor loss open at 7 am, or 6 hours before, whichever yes earlier. I thought it was always 6am or 6 hours before kick, is this new or have i just never noticed it before?

It's been 7:00/6 hours prior for several years.

I usually donate enough for 5 parking spots so I can have a buffer between my bags and my Maserati.

Just got mine... bounced back from A2 to A1.....

Would be willing to pay up to have an A2 pass.

Exactly. Which is one of the most stupid things ever. We have never been turned away when getting there much earlier than those guidelines.

Last year they started getting stricter about that, at least at the S16th entrance to the S lots. Wouldnt open the gate until right at 7 (or 6hrs before).

I hate that there is a lot of drama with a lot of long time donors being pushed back.... But I love the fact that it is driving more revenue for my team that will ultimately produce a better product on the field and court.

I'm glad I'm the one not making the decisions about parking lots. And I'm very happy that we have such an awesome tailgating atmosphere. I'll have to and drink someone else's beer for a change!

Makes we wonder what kind of space I could have got with a Gold level. I don't have season tickets, have buddies with too many extras as it is. They state you can get a parking space but you have to call. I am not likely to get down to more than a game or two but did consider a parking spot.

What ticks me off is --- u donate $250 to park with friends/tailgate - and this year we are placed east of the stadium. We have been next to the alumni center for years. Now watch and look over into the lots and 1/2 the spots are full after the first few games. Most of the prime spots are taken from business donors instead of the loyal fans like myself!!! Sucks - i need to work somewhere where businesses match or donate to ISU.

I'm glad you are sayin G7 is worthy. The cement lots are so crowded its hard to even thro a bag. Gonna be worse this year. I'm ready to party with the G7 crowd! Woooo! I'll be the one with tequilla and big fat cuban cigars!!

You're welcome beside me!

G7 is nice because it seems like there's a lot of people who don't tailgate there. Cheerleaders, parents, etc. So many times, there'll be a car next to you, but nobody there. Of course the earlier you get there, the less true that is. :twitcy:

We finally went G7 this year. We always went the cross your fingers and hope the lot is still open route but this year we decided to be donors. We were pretty lucky to get spots in the past but the few times we spent driving around were rather frustrating. Driving from Cedar Rapids for the early games made it challenging at times. It was time to get real.

Good deal. If you have season tickets and are in the Cyclone Club anyway, the parking pass is a no brainer. Cheaper, easier and better.

Though leaving sucks sometimes. But then again, fire the grill back up and hope the cooler isn't empty

I am a bit suprised about some of the sour grapes . . .

If you didnt pay for something and you got upgraded in the past be thankful, the AD did you a favor by letting you in a lot that you didnt technically earn/deserve/pay for.

If you got moved from one cardinal level lot to another cardinal level lot chances are someone with more priority points or a higher donation level bumped you. Its not the AD's fault, its just how it is. If it were the other way around you would expect the same treatment.

I understand its not as easy as saying "donate more $$" because for some folks they are maxing out what they feel comfortable at and as I said before, I am thankful for each donor because every dollar helps support the University that I love. I think the AD is being more than fair with the way that they handle the parking pass arrangement and priority.

We are very spoiled at ISU when it comes to parking around the stadium. There are a lot of stadiums where people would have to pay a lot of money to get the proximity and convenience of lot G7.
