Long really thanking the team for feeding him the rock today.

Someone else said it - this team could have some great chemistry already

I'm not sure what to make of this, but with about 11 minutes left to go, this is nearly the exact score that Iowa beat this team on Friday night.

It means Iowa plays better defense or ISU has a better offense. :jimlad:

Most here won't admit it but the Iowa/ISU game will be very similar to last year and the first team to 80 will win.

Great line by Fred on Randy Petersen's first question in the news conference. Randy says something like... "I know you weren't expecting Naz Long to shoot like that"..... and Fred says... "well, according to Randy Petersen I wasn't expecting Naz to shoot it like that".

Does anyone have the exact lines? It was hilarious I thought.

It should be a great game. I'm really thankful that this game is at Hilton. Iowa like most teams, hasn't necessarily won a lot of quality games on the road. ISU usually shoots pretty well at home. I would hate to try to play the Hawks in Carver or on a neutral court this early in the season, with as much experience your team has. Playing at home can be the neutralizer for that, IMO.

Just got back from the game.

My take away from it:

-Percy looked as soft as a pillow. Unless we're getting blown out or blowing a team out, he shouldn't get any PT.

-Obviously we're not gonna get that every night from Naz but he'll be huge if we can get 10-15 a game from him.

-Monte is gonna be a great one. I can't wait to see him develop.

-DeAndre is a leader, a rebounder, a scorer, and a pretty damn good overall player.

-Matt Thomas needs to shoot more. It seems like he's scared to shoot. He needs to just pull up if he has a inch of open air. He can just stroke the ball.

-Daniel looked better than decent to me. People have been talking him down on this board so I was decently surprised to see him play. Obviously, he's not gonna be a scorer but he looks like he'll be a good guy to give us some minutes when some guys need a break or in foul trouble.

-SDW: I'm not sure what to think of him yet. He looks uneasy out there. Not really comfortable.

Seems to me most Cyclone fans think it will be close even though ISU has been the better program lately and is playing at home, while most Iowa fans think they'll blow out ISU and be a top 10 team without proving anything yet.

Its more like this but there are always delusional people both ways.

But yes there are a plethora of delusional Iowa fans. That's nothing new.

Bluford doesn't look very comfortable out there. A little like Naz last year IMO. He may not see many minutes this year.

He seems content to launch from anywhere at anytime. Fred said the night he scouted him he just went 4 - 20 but loved that he felt confident enough to put up 20 shots. Fred needs to further explain to KJ about shot selection IMO. He is quickly becoming my least favorite player on this team.

Give him some time to find his role on the team. By the end of the year he might be a guy who can come in a give us some dagger threes off the bench.

If anyone can figure out the strengths and weaknesses of his players and put it all together, its Freddy.

I agree. If there is any coach that preaches confidence and taking your shot if it's there, it is Fred. I'm sure he will talk to him about the shots he took rather than the fact that he took them.
