I don't see the point in a 'least favorite' player.
I like KJ. He brings some fun to the game, but he certainly needs to get himself under control a little better.

I think some fans were a little too worried about 3 point shooting and imagined Bluford as part of a solution to a problem that didn't even exist. It's true Tyrus was possibly as good a 3 point specialist as you could as for but Niang can stroke it, Ejim became a good 3 point shooter last year, and it was highly unlikely Thomas wouldn't be a very good 3 point shooter. Now a couple games in we know Long and Morris can hit it, SDW and Bluford seem to have potential. It's not a big deal that Kane can't because it seems we want him crashing for boards anyway especially without Melvin.

I'm not sure what it would take at this point for me to be worried about our shooting with Hoiberg as coach. I have worries like any fan of any team, but hitting the 3 wasn't one coming in and isn't one after seeing the team a couple times. I get frustrations that Percy hasn't improved but it's kind of crazy to not have patience with any other players.

Did Monte play? I didn't see him in the box score and haven't had a chance to watch the game yet.

Must have been some error with score keeping, he played plenty. Hit a 3 and a couple other shots, a few assists, a few turnovers. Looked more impressive in the exhibition game but certainly did not look bad. I think because Naz was so hot they kept the Naz/Kane combo longer than they did in the exhibition where Monte was clearly the spark.

Good game. If anything needs to be criticized a bit, it is still the defense. Still giving up too many easy bunnies, but it is only the first game.

Not really any disappointment with any players. Would like to see SDW and Bluford get some more minutes if possible. I think they both need some confidence, and would just like to see Bluford get used to shooting in Hilton and get adjusted to this offensive style. He did not shoot well today, but there will be days he can light it up too I bet. Edozie needs work on his moves and ball-handling, but the other players need to come to his aid more too. I love his effort.

This is going to be a fun team to watch develop.

sorry late to the party and just checked the box score and don't feel like going through eighteen pages of posts, is Morris banged up? Did he not play?

Not sure what site's box score is showing nothing for him but he played, probably about 18-20 minutes if I had to guess. Didn't look as good as the exhibition but still good, looked confident taking a 3. Didn't look for his shot much, had a couple turnovers where he was trying to get Edozie and Ellerman baskets that I don't think would have happened if he wasn't just trying to get them involved.

When will the replay of the game be up on Cyclones.tv website? I had to stop watching the game on tv before we got hot, (left around 7:09 mark of first half).

I'm pleased with the minutes Edozie's given in the exhibition and first game. Works hard on defense and rebounds, pretty much what we want out of him. He was given the ball in a bad position on offense a couple of times and left out to dry once when he someone should have come gotten the ball from him.

Hogue's jumpshot and free throw isn't pretty. But the man's got hops and has an explosive drive and finishes around the basket well.

Pretty confident in Thomas and Morris. Thomas always plays within the flow of the game. Niang seemed to be forcing a bit early but settled in.

If I had to guess what the rotation will be cut to:

Kane
Thomas
Hogue
Ejim
Niang

Morris
Long
Gibson

I think Percy still gets the nod, but he looked bad today. Edozie looked more athletic and active. If he can learn how to not foul, he could be the body we need when our posts need a breather.

SDW and Bluford are not going to see much PT, in my opinion.
