I'm really disappointed.
No one has been screwed over by the Big 12 more than Iowa State. I thought y'all have gotten immensely screwed vs. UT over the years.
If anyone, I knew that Iowa State fans, would feel some sympathy for Texas Tech after this game of getting screwed over.
I thought at least I could connect with y'all over that, but now I realize Iowa State fans are EXACTLY like UT fans. Not a single one of y'all will admit that a single call went your way.
This is really disappointing. I really want to like Iowa State fans. I like Matt Campbell and really want to respect the Iowa State program.
However, if you can't admit that your team got some calls to go their way, you're a trash program just like Texas. That's disappointing.
The kinds of things ISU has received apology letters from the Big 12 offices for:
Last season at the end of the game against K-State, Lazard wore his defender like a cheap winter coat on a play that was originally called PI, but the lead ref decided to pick up the flag (the ref who threw the flag was shown saying “it’s your funeral”)
A few years ago, near the end of the game with Texas, ISU forced a fumble on a Texas player near the goal line that ISU picked up and returned 100ish yards for a TD - which the refs decided to blow dead. Video evidence showed none of the RB being down, forward progress stopped, or TD. Further, no whistle could be heard in the replay. Texas would go on to score the TD and win the game.
A few years ago against KU in OT (I think), Niang took a charge under the basket. His feet were not in the circle, his arms were straight up, and he was stationary, and the KU player was completely out of control. And if memory serves, he also drew blood. But instead of calling the charge, the refs called blocking. KU would score the FTs that would give them the lead permanently.
Then there’s no words for this abomination:
What
@ttuadvisor wants an apology letter for:
Early in the game, the TT NT held an ISU OL, preventing him from getting upfield to make his block, which per the rulebook is defensive holding, and he was flagged for it. Then, throughout the game, TT continued to commit penalties, like hitting Purdy late, hitting him with the crown of the helmet, hitting him below the knees, among other penalties.
Excuse me for thinking one of these things isn’t quite like the other, and until you’ve walked a mile in ISU’s shoes when it comes to getting screwed by Big 12 refs, you can get the **** out of here with your bull**** “we want an apology letter” whining.
