This game concerned me before that. This sure doesn't help my concern level.

You really only have one guy that can initiate half court offense at this point. And you only have one guy willing to take the ball aggressively to the basket.

I thought they did a good job against Baylor working the ball inside. Watching today, it felt like everyone other than Brockington, and flashes from Hunter, there wasn’t a real will to do the work needed to establish anything inside.

I didn’t think Gabe would struggle like he did early in v conference, but I was wrong. Idk if it’s a confidence thing but he looks like a shooter, I don’t know what he’s missing. I sure hope he finds it fast!!!
I wish jaz would get more three looks.

he puts quite a bit of arc on the ball when he shoots, his release point is really inconsistent.

Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of bullets in the chamber for TJ to try to change things up with.

but he got absolutely dominated by Dixon on the sideline today.

when we go small we are two small and lose the boards but they didn’t kill us there. We had them in foul trouble but stopped driving after missing some bunnies. I don’t mind us taking the kick out three pointers even when not shooting well, but looking for the pass around the perimeter for the open three is a losing proposition for this team.

Well, to be fair, we had 3s to chuck.

Not sure what TJ needs to do, but the offense has to get better. Way too much standing around today and absolutely careless with the ball. Shooting was never going to be a strong suit for this team, but the thing that I have seen is that they are not getting very many good looks.

Does anybody on this team know how to take the ball to the hoop and finish/draw contact? Jackson drove it to the paint and put up a nice jump hook there at the end. But other than that, most of the time the drives are timid and guys are just looking to kick the ball out for a missed 3pt shot.

The coaching staff really needs to work on helping these players develop at least a rudimentary inside offensive game.

Agree.
Does TJ just say it was bad night, or does he now adjust and realize we can't count on the long ball with this roster going forward ?

Can't really rely on the short game either.

Tricky spot to be in.

They tend to get swatted inside.

Does ISU provide eye exams? maybe something the basketball team looks into on Monday.

All joking aside...here is where we get to hear the "nobody believes in us talk.

I really don't know if we are going to make the tournament. Look at our next 4 conference games.
@OSU
KU
@texas
@WVU19

Where are the wins? We could be sitting at 2-9....easily.

we have to get to 7-8 wins to make the tourney.

Yep, ain't happening

Hunter is the only one that can get the team in a half court offense.

Brockington is initiating offense for himself when he puts his head down.
