Oh, and one last thought - Ejim was a monster last night. I was really happy with how he responded to the benching. If he can keep that level of effort and play up they'll have a shot at winning a couple more games.

Welcome to the cellar, boys. Get comfortable, cause we aren't going anywhere.

YouTube - Oh no! We suck again!

Didn't see the game, the final score and reading the comments about us not scoring a FG in the final 4 minutes tells me all I need to know. Season's over.

Any further wins this year are just icing on the turd. Here's hoping next year is better... shouldn't take a whole lot to be.

I really don't have to be welcomed to the cellar...I've been there before with Coaches Anderson & Trickey who combined to win a whopping 11 games in 2 seasons the way I remember it.

Ouch! In regulation a couple of turnovers in the last couple minutes really gave OU a chance to get back in the game... I really think Dante has played well this year, but with the game on the line with very little time left on the clock, he's struggled (ok my emotions are running high after another lost)... That's little unfair to Dante...(the whole team has struggled). Does some of the blame in close loses fall on the coaching staff? You know they are practicing these tight game situations (arguably going against the best practice squad in the nation) but they continue to struggle in these situations…. I guess that what seprates the men from the boys... UGH!
Well guess what? I would put the ball in DG's hands and he is triple teamed. It does not take a rocket scientist to know that someone else on the team will have to take the shot. I would put Railey, JVB, SC and Ejim in and let SC be the point guard to find the best person to take the shot. We need a change at the end of the game. I think these five could get a shot off.

We are simply a tired team.

That is sorta a copout. Some of the best ISU teams only went 6 or 7 deep. I dont think LE, TF or JO, was easy on them at practice either. Maybe the need to practice harder to get them in better shape so they are not tired at the end of games. Being tired doesnt explain starting games so slow.

1. they had a 6 point lead with 3:30 minutes left in the game

2. They had the ball with a tie and 35.4 seconds left on the clock.

I think those are both good reasons ISU should have won the game.

Having a six point lead with 3:30 left is only a good reason to win if the team with the lead has the talent to maintain it for the remaining 3:30. Do you think holding a lead when you are outmanned is some trivial feat?

Having the ball at the end of the game is only a good reason to win if the team with the ball has the talent to do something with it.

It has been repeatedly demonstrated that ISU does not presently have the talent to do these things in the Big 12. You should not be at all surprised if these scenarios are repeated again before the season is over. Get ready...

Saying we don't have the talent to beat Oklahoma is weak. Oklahoma is not a good team. We have more than enough talent to beat them, especially at home. Let's not try to make it as though we should be grateful they were even able to have the lead at any point.

Why is it weak? OU may not be a good team talent-wise, but right now, ISU is worse. I would contend that ISU is the least talented team in the Big 12. And probably so did the Big 12 coaches when they picked ISU to finish last in the conference.

You cannot play in the Big 12 (or any major conference) without athletic talent. ISU is just devastated in that regard right now. Home/away really makes no difference when the talent disparity is so large. I have yet to see anybody here logically explain why ISU should be expected to win Big 12 games with the current roster. Right now, who on ISU's current roster would start, or even see significant minutes, at another Big 12 school?

I expect for the rest of the big 12 teams we play to have their best shooting nights against us...I've never seen more teams with woes coming in just light up the place like teams do against our D. I'd love to see the FG % against us. I bet its ridiculous...prolly 65%.

If anyone even tries to shoot a soft 8 footer in front of our basket for a bucket, I want us to knock his legs out from under him to know that we will be watching. No more 30 point scorers this year. No mas.

Are you really serious about this? You don't think anyone on Iowa St would play on any other B12 team?

Frank Martin would probably put out a hit on someone to have DG running the point in Manhattan. I'd venture to say that DG would start and/or play significant minutes for probably 1/2 the teams in the Big 12.

You seriously don't think that a guy who is 5th in the conference in scoring, 5th in steals, and 1st in assists would play at any of the other 11 schools. Yikes.

i was so frustrated with vanderbeken last night. laziest player ive ever seen. i know he was puking, but if you're puking, let someone who can actually rebound and help the team play! so tired of watching his lackluster play.

Very good points, and I agree with you. That's one.

Now, who else on ISU's active roster would see significant minutes at another Big 12 school? The freshmen would likely be redshirted on most other teams. JVB, who is a streaky shooter and not strong on defense or rebounding?? Christopherson, with a bum elbow that needs surgery?? Anderson might be the best candidate.

I'm just trying to understand why some posters here are so upset about the way the conference games are going. It seems that after looking at the roster, what is happening should be happening, and there's no reason to fly off the handle after every loss.

Because people got all caught up with us dominating inferior teams, and forgot we were predicted last in the Big XII and who we were actually going up against out of conference and conference.

I think the way we're choking away games is frustrating too. We're losing games in the last minute or two and yeah that's going to happen but when it keeps happening, that falls on the coaches to get the problem fixed
