Depth and shooting TJ, happy recruiting season
^Scoring" I honestly don't care where it comes from. I wouldn't mind slashers that can get to the line and make free throws when offense is stagnant. I guess Gilbert when healthy was a guy like that. We go cold from 3 too long and creates 17-2 runs which happened way too often this year.

Bull crap, ISU and school like us with never have millions to throw at the players, so we have to go out and find diamonds in the rough, which this staff has done a great job doing. Do your really think Ol Miss is swimming in money, Beard is a hell of a coach, a slime ball, but the man can coach and has won at every place he has been. If you expect ISU to up our NIL game and start bringing in million dollar players left and right, you are going to be in for a long wait. Maybe it's time for you bedtime, as I am sure you have to go to work tomorrow. Me, I am retired, I have all the time in the world.
Getting a team late into the tourney requires athletes, skill players, a coach that can bring that together and some luck. ISU doesn’t have a lot of NIL money so we’re really relaying on what TJ can stitch together in a season.

**** happened and it didn’t go well. It’s tough to reconcile that the team was in the top 10 most of the season and then laid this egg. I’m massIvey disappointed. That said, the odds are against ISU overall in sports and I don’t see it getting better in the future.

We could have been slightly better with more Nojus and Watson at year end. I am convinced of that.

Just goes down as an entirely weird year. Now that it’s over I imagine we can all agree that:

A) Keshons injury see-saw and him not traveling with the team is bizarre.

B) Watson playing really well within his role for 3 weeks then never seeing the floor again is bizarre.

C) Nojus going from rotation guy to behind Keldemran is bizarre

Just a weird year you’d love to know the full story. Oh well. On to the portal.
A). There is more with the Keshon situation than the reported injury.

B). Our problem has been in the backcourt. I like what Watson brings as a role player but he’s not the answer to any of our real problems.

C). Nojus is not a good ball handler. At all.

I’m surprisingly unaffected right now too. Part of it is as I’ve gotten older realizing it’s really not all that important. Life goes on. Part of it is also realizing that this team didn’t have a long run in it. That’s been obvious for a month. So it just kind of is what it is

It's always funny to me when fans attribute all success to luck and all failure to coaching. Guess we should fire TJ and hire Beard. TJ clearly isn't up to the task.

I shouldn't be surprised when fans have the emotional maturity of a toddler on a sports message board after a loss.
Both can be true. We got outcoached badly tonight, that's true. Doesn't mean tj is bad, Beard has gotten outcoached many times.

Right. We didn't almost beat Auburn or have any other solid wins where we played good D. Nor did we rank in the top 10 in analytics for defense all season. Get a grip.
As a fanbase we have to stop using “we had a twenty point second half lead over Auburn” as an example of why we shouldn’t be frustrated about the season. That team showed up for 23 minutes in Maui, and promptly blew that game due to our inability to get stops against above average offenses and our inability to do anything consistently in the half court against literally anyone with a heartbeat.

And yes, we had some “solid wins” we have always had those solid wins with TJ. Everyone expected to make the jump and get the “we belong in the final four” wins and that never happened, we got some moral victories against good teams instead which are also known as losses. I know injuries play a part but good lord. Line our 8 up with Ole Miss’ top 8 and there’s absolutely no reason we should’ve be down 26, no matter how bad we shot from the floor for a stretch.

I'll give credit to Miss, it did well on D, actually converted shots and FTs.

I think officiating was uneven early and OM hammered the **** out of ISU, then we got timid because of it.

But ISU didn't score inside consistently, erratic on FTs when we did get to the line, our deep-shooters were erratic, couldn't secure rebounds on either end.

Last year I remember being really upbeat after the Illinois loss, felt like we had a good core and this year could be really good. This year after Miss, it's not despair, just more acceptance that the window might be closing, and in this new era this might be the ceiling.

I don't know where we are ever going to get the shooters we need to really make a final four push. Tamin will keep us competitive next year, but after that I just don't know.

Miss just kicked our ass. Every phase of the game, very well prepared, excellent game plan. Outstanding by them.

As with every year, losing the final game is disappointing. Hopes were so high at 15-1, #2 ranked. Life goes on.
I'm going to miss Curtis Jones, Keshon Gilbert, and Brandt Chatfield. I would've liked Chatfield to go back in with a few seconds left to be recognized.

The off season will be important. Who leaves, who transfers in. The lack of knowing what the team will look like makes college sports, especially basketball, less enjoyable, IMO.

Behind Enemy Lines (IC)
compared to TTU and even BYU in this round, we looked slow and somewhat unathletic. i know this was due somewhat to injuries, but i hope the coaches consider that going forward. makes you wonder what our "true" seed would have been with full knowledge of that...

Don't get me wrong I love watching and cheering for us. But right now I am so busy with taxes and getting the racecar ready for my first race this coming Friday that my time is at a premium and I don't have time or the energy to get worked up over losing a bb game right now. I got to keep getting **** done.

This is what is most depressing about the end of a Cyclone athletics season.

I never liked racing, just cannot get into it. Any of it.

I used to love baseball, but that sport literally is like 6th on my fav sports list now. So long, very boring at times.

NHL is cool, especially playoffs so there is that. But I hate they completely remove fighting once playoffs start.

NBA regular season is a joke (I wouldn't care at all about it if it weren't for the plethora of Cyclones in the NBA.) Playoffs get a little interesting towards the end at least sometimes.

MLS. Eh, fun in person, but not gonna watch hardly of that on TV when EPL/La Liga/Bundesliga are so vastly superior.

Cyclone football. Cyclone basketball. Those two are the best. Once those two are over, it just feels like I'm into twiddling thumbs time with the other sports until FB is back.

Come with me once and you'll be hooked

B & C. Could not agree more, I wish more people understood that Cade might’ve been about the only true PG we had on the roster. And with how well Heise looked down the stretch, there were no minutes to give DWat
