I don't think the defense was horrible tonight. It wasn't great, but it's not like they lit us up for 90. We had an off-shooting night (very off). Part of that was just due to everyone being off, part of that was due to them having height on us at almost every position. It's not like the guys didn't give effort, they nearly out-rebounded a team that they gave up quite a bit of size to. The worlds not falling a part. This is basketball, lots of games in a season and even the best teams lose a few. Maryland looks like a competent team, so it won't end up being a bad loss from an RPI standpoint most likely.

How many attempted iso plays did you see? BDJ succeeded with it in the beginning, but naz jacked out of rhythm 3s contested, Monte and Georges tried to do too much, and Dustin took some bad shots.

I think the low FG percentage has to do more with taking shots outside of the rhythm of our offense. Fred'll fix it.

Rhythm is one thing but missed open rim layups kill our % too, Hogue, niang, Morris, BDJ, all missed them.... I believe this team will rebound, you can see how bothered we were at the end....
The only good thing for me was Edozie, great hustle, great mins, great improvements from last year....

Horrible defense? you guys played pretty good defense actually. the difference was that you allowed maryland to dictate the pace, and force you into bad shots. alot of this can be attributed to their length defensively. chock this up to a bad shooting night. its pretty unlikely you see this ISU team shoot 30% from the field again like they did tonight.

If you think that was pretty good defense then ISU is going to slaughter Arkansas. ISU is going to need to learn to play better defense. You cannot shoot 58% in every game. ISU gave Maryland WAY too many easy, uncontested buckets. I've watched them do this in every game I have seen, they just finally shot poorly enough that they couldn't overcome it.

This team will add a huge post presense on dec 20. Are we forgetting this? Did everyone expect to win every non conference game? I didn't. I figured we'd drop one or two at most and that's what will happen. Maryland is more than a mediocre team. Maryland received votes for top 25 and after tonight might get there. Folks it was just a bad night shooting in back to back games.

We don't press. We never press. It's like telling Iowa football to start running the spread. We don't practice it, we don't use it. Every time we lose a game this comes up.
