Wasnt even who you were arguing with in that thread. Just pointing out you do the same thing to people as they were doing to you.

Guilty as charged. But I try to add a little creativity and have a little fun with it.

Yawn...

At least the guys finally played with some energy and passion..... that was nice to see.

And yes, the refs did us absolutely no favors, but that is life on the road- especially at WV, so we should have expected some home cookin' for them for sure.

But watching this team keep making boneheaded play after boneheaded play.... especially down the stretch.... is just so frustrating. 20 turnovers a game won't win you anything.... and a lot of them are totally self inflicted and not caused by the opponent at all.

Javan Johnson show glimpses of being really good, but his dribble is so high off the floor it's insane.... and that crazy step back 3 which he air balled was beyond stupid. Harris also had a few air balls himself. I've never seen so many air balls!

And then stupid coaching, stupid inbounds plays, etc, etc. Truth is..... we had this game..... and pi$$ed it right down our leg. I loved the effort.... but the stupidity has to stop. If we want to win any games, we have to play efficient and smart basketball. Last night we were far from that. We gave great effort on both ends and looked like we really wanted to win and compete.... that's a huge improvement. Now we need to quit being dumb.

Time for some optimism!

I was impressed with last nights showing. Let’s do a run down.

Rasir was super impressive, last night was the first time it felt like he was running the show. He was yelling at people, and just looked comfortable at the pg spot. 4 assists and 0 turnovers. He continues to impress in that regard in the early part of the season.

JCL was the one who I thought brought the most energy. He used his length really well on the defensive end grabbing 3 steals. Shot the ball well from 3 again so I hope that continues.

Javan played an okay game. I can understand people wanting him to play less, mainly because of his shot selection (it’s bad). But man, when he gets going to the hoop, he is scary good. He is shooting 64.5% from 2 this year. That one step around move he had was damn impressive

Solo was a man on the defensive glass. He did a great job at boxing out. And a better job on defense.

Dubar was impressive on defense even though he was incredibly out matched by Culver. I am curious what his offensive identity will be.

Blackwell was by far the most impressive freshmen yesterday. He utilized his length extremely well, and played like his hair was on fire. I know proud mentioned that his passing skills were good, but they were quite a bit better than I was expecting.

Harris did exactly what he was supposed to do. He brought energy and intensity off the bench. The steaks he had were just awesome. I also love his 3 quarters court pressure he puts on the other teams ball handler.

Conditt showed that there is still some fight in him. He grabbed 5 boards in the short time he was on the floor. Defense was better too.

I thought Steve coached a well game last night too. I noticed some posters saying he needs more energy. In the first half in particular he brought that energy. Second half it did go down, but still better than previous games. I laughed when they called Javan for the intentional foul and he was calling the call a joke to the refs. That’s more of the Steve I want to see.

Overall I think everyone played better and had so much more energy. I am hoping that becomes the new normal for the team now! Go Cyclones!

Way up there
I'm still pissed about that first foul called on Foster. Straight garbage.

It was a **** call but the silver lining is, it got Blackwell more run that expected and he looked solid. Really liked the way he moved the ball. He was also talking a lot, motioning guys where to be etc...I'm not saying he's in this league but its the same stuff we saw from Tyrese early on in his career. Wasn't trying to make a big play, just being in the right spot and moving the ball where it should go.

This is a game where a power forward like Hinson really would have helped. Not that he wouldn't help every game.....but with the bodies WVE has, and the way they were calling fouls on our bigs...another banger would have really helped.

I will say that our bigs need to body up more and stay vertical when affecting shots. We use our hands too much when we are defending down low.

I can't say I'm ever IMPRESSED by a team when they have 20 turnovers. But I am heartened that these guys can continue to improve with that kind of effort. It was a night and day difference between this game and KSU. There aren't moral victories, and it will be difficult to get a lot of pay off for these guys as they try to continue to develop through a double round robin Big 12 schedule, but if they always compete and the young guys continue to make progress, this team is worth watching to me. Go State!

A little late but this season, this kind of effort is something I can get behind. Good game to everybody in the program and a great game by Bolton.

WVU has a good team. only team to be up on Zaga at the half, and played them even until the last few minutes when culver ran out of gas and made stupid plays.

WVU also won a tournament, beating 3 teams who will be in the field of 64 in 3 days. And blew out richmond, a very good team, before playing ISU.

ISU played with much more intensity than WVU. You guys played a great game. beat us on many boards, something that rarely happens.

Do i think the refs were good? no, but they never are in the big 12. WVU gets bad calls as well as good ones. I do think the home team typically gets most of the 50/50 calls.

We will see what WVU has soon. next game is @ Kansas. Definitely wont get any calls there.

Good luck the rest of the season. Your team played much better than I expected, and WVU played as if was sleepwalking most of the game. I expect a better effort against kansas.

I'm not personally invested in this year's team for some reason.

Does that rephrasing make your feelings less hurt?

Don't flatter yourself. My feelings are not hurt or otherwise affected by you in any way. Just pointing out how generally silly it is to make a show out of commenting about how much you "don't care" about something in a thread devoted exactly to "that something".
