I still remember how much Embiid controlled that game. It was pretty clear he was going to be a great NBA player in college.
ISU's road to the B12 tourney championship was paved by Embiid's injury that year.

Completely agree. Without that injury we don’t win it.ISU's road to the B12 tourney championship was paved by Embiid's injury that year.

I’ll allow it
And George’s foot still killed our possibility of making a deep run in the tourney. KU in 14 when healthy was just a really bad matchup for us. We only lost to UConn by 7, but I sure would have liked to have seen how that would have went with a healthy Niang.I know the "Georges' foot" team has a lot of legends about it, but it did draw an easy path in Kansas City with Embiid out. He absolutely killed us that season.

ISU also was pretty bad at Hilton vs. KU that season.
Just looked it up--shot 31.4% overall and 16% from 3. I just remember many of the shots looked 'tight' and were often too strong off the back of the rim.
Niang was 4-20.
Tonight may be the last game Self coaches against Iowa State.

Odds on if this gets more pages than the Texas Gameday thread with people astonished that ISU couldn't win in Lawrence.
I'll read about this one. I'll also be $14.29 richer.vs
