ISU's road to the B12 tourney championship was paved by Embiid's injury that year.
Completely agree. Without that injury we don’t win it.
I’ll allow it
I know the "Georges' foot" team has a lot of legends about it, but it did draw an easy path in Kansas City with Embiid out. He absolutely killed us that season.
And George’s foot still killed our possibility of making a deep run in the tourney. KU in 14 when healthy was just a really bad matchup for us. We only lost to UConn by 7, but I sure would have liked to have seen how that would have went with a healthy Niang.
ISU also was pretty bad at Hilton vs. KU that season.
Just looked it up--shot 31.4% overall and 16% from 3. I just remember many of the shots looked 'tight' and were often too strong off the back of the rim.
Niang was 4-20.
Bill Self is a cheating ****.
Embiid just crushed us on the boards and blocking/altering shots.
Georges having a bad night was Embiid shutting him down.
Embiid erased Georges but without him, KU did not have an answer for him.
Tonight may be the last game Self coaches against Iowa State.
Unreal that Bill Self (and his asst coach Townsend) - as well as Sean Miller at Zona, still have jobs, let alone Top 25 rankings and NCAA invites.
Because of the shoe scandal? Nothing has come from it yet. Did the FBI DOJ decide to do anything? It's been so long I've forgot what's happening with that.
So....unless I am mistaken we have won 5 times in 40 years in Lawrence? But yet, like you said.......................................
I'll read about this one. I'll also be $14.29 richer.
Remember it like it was yesterday. I've never seen a good player shoot as bad as Georges that day.
Watching ND - NC before the game makes me happy, and sad. Last time we played both those teams.
So, um, let's do this?
Eyes closed, head first, still might lose
Lol suck it Roy
