I'm not sure cyclones.tv can show this game at all since it was on the Big 10 TV package. I'm not 100% sure on that though.
Interesting. I'll try to save this post and get back with you on Tues, or so. We'll see if it is up on cyclone.tv then.

Yeah, think about that, Konrandy was kicking into the wind. That baby was good from 65, with the wind, maybe 70. We are always in FG range now.
He had a light breeze at his back. Wind was out of the north all day.

Still the greatest kick in school history.

Do you guys realize that Darien Porter had 2 picks yesterday? I didn't know he had the INT on the last play of the game!
“You’ve got to focus, not on the mistakes, but focus on what’s next,” Konrardy said. “Part of it was just not even think about the mistake, but focus on what I could do now.”

The key, Konrardy said, was “not think.”

“That’s it,” he said. “Just go out there and not think and just do what you do.”

Asked if he was able to do that, Konrardy smiled and said, “Yes sir.”

“It’s just like practice,” Becht said. “He hits those all of the time in practice. He has no doubt.”

Iowa (1-1) got a 35-yard return from Max White on the ensuing kickoff and had time for one play, but Cade McNamara’s pass was intercepted by Darien Porter."

Not exactly sure.

Oh, it was being said that kickoffs that direction weren’t going as far due to the wind. There was around a 10 yard difference in his kicks going the other direction. I went off that.

Agree, he looked good yesterday. I'd like to see him used more. I'm still not convinced Sama is the guy. He had the huge KSU game but that was a weird situation with the weather. Outside of that performance, I really don't feel like he has stood out much.
I guess you missed the BYU game. He got a lot of tough yards yesterday. He misses holes, but I thought he showed some improvement and toughness yesterday in getting upfield and getting what's there.

An underrated post in that thread:

"Iowa needs the ISU football series like it needs more off-tackle runs into a 9-man box."
Here’s another thing I like about the game yesterday. Kirk certainly didn’t have a good time. Does this hasten his exit after he secures some records?

Porter also had a big tackle in 2nd half, when Johnson broke that big-gainer, might have saved a TD. (Iowa might have scored at TD on that drive anyway, can't recall).
This is putting the cart well ahead of the horse, but wouldn't it be something if Darien got drafted higher than TJ Tampa next year? I suppose it could happen. Darien has more speed, I think. The NFL values speed.

Let's see how the year plays out. It is just his first year starting at DB. And is this his first year at the position or was he a backup there last year? I know he started out as a WR, yes?
