They have every bit of emotion and momentum on their side with like 95% odds of winning at half time. They came out and things looked like we might move the ball but no reason for their fans to get scared. And then we promptly took a jack hammer to their balls in the last 30 seconds.

While this is probably the only time I'd ever say this phrase, it works... sometimes, somebody else's tears can taste like champagne. Maximum pain = maximum pleasure!
Gif please? :D

We hear the same thing every time they lose, they are idiots.

Fact is both schools make a killing on this series. No other game that it could be replaced with drives close to the interest as this one does. As much as I wish we could play someone else too. No way in hell this game goes away as long as it is possible to schedule it. Not saying some day realignment and scheduling restrictions dont cause it to go away, but no way it stops without being forced to.

Hok fans just get dumber all the time.

I dont mind and find Hassel kind of fun to listen to.

Miller is an absolute A-hole. I tried to watch/listen to he and chris' show for a while. But Miller is so insufferable pompas jackwagon that I just cant watch or listen to anything with him.

Hassel at least has a sense of humor and can take what he dishes out, and at least tries to have fun.
LOL, pretty good list of adjectives here! :)

This clearly shows the clock never started until after the ball was kicked.
Going off of the box score from ESPN, here are the timings of the field goal plays from the time of the snap to the clock stopping. We'll skip the end of the 1st half attempt because time expired during the play.
Each of these FG attempts came after an incomplete pass, so that should help keep the time of the play standardized and similar.

Iowa kicks a 23 yarder - 9 seconds
Iwas kicks a 21 yarder - 9 seconds
ISU kicks a 46 yarder - 10 seconds
ISU kicks a 54 yarder - 3 seconds

Calculating the minimum average speed of the ball during the 54 yarder gets me about 44 miles per hour.
54 yard kick + 7 yard snap + 3.4 yards to clear the 10 foot high cross bar in 3 seconds.
Yes, I know the ball gets higher than that. Indulge me.

Let's do the same for the 21 yarder.
21 + 7 + 3.4 yards in 9 seconds gets us to an average speed of... 7 miles per hour.

Interesting that this site can air the replay so quickly after the game.

Cyclone.tv can't show the replay until 3 days (I think) after the first tier broadcast.

I'm not sure cyclones.tv can show this game at all since it was on the Big 10 TV package. I'm not 100% sure on that though.

SIAP but I don't think Jaylon Jackson is getting enough love for the change of pace and jolt he gave the running game second half. He made a couple of really crucial runs late in that game that kept the defense on its toes a little more than with Sama. I wish we had seen him a little more as he is exactly the type of small shifty back that gives teams like Iowa fits.

Just read the comments Hok fans made during the game on HawkeyeNation. Was hilarious to see their mood change from beginning of game when nothing could go right for the Cyclones through the 2nd quarter when Hoks had to settle for two straight field goals from inside the 5 and finally by the end of the game after Noel burned Nwampka for a TD and their complete defensive backfield breakdown during our winning drive.
Nwampka has been a bust for them as far as 5 star recruits go. Their own fans have turned on him a little.

good reply was “you want to play Alabama and LSU? Think about that for a second.”

Agree, he looked good yesterday. I'd like to see him used more. I'm still not convinced Sama is the guy. He had the huge KSU game but that was a weird situation with the weather. Outside of that performance, I really don't feel like he has stood out much.
