Toure is suddenly our second highest rated recruit according to 247. Batemon is highest rated and Mitchell is outside the top 100.

Interestingly, Rivals has Mitchell as our highest rated, but Batemon is still a top 100 4-star.

Rivals hasn’t updated their rankings since September (before Toure committed), so gotta think he’s due for a bump on there as soon as they update it.

Side note: Don’t sleep on Macari Moore. He’s a baller.

Three freshmen 6’3” guards is a bit unusual in this era.

I’m a bit surprised we went that route because there will be transfers we can get that are unheralded but older and talented. Like CuJo was.

TJ has twice successfully relied on a freshman pg to make the tournament. And Milan filled a prominent role Day 1, so it can happen.

Guard court next year is going to be interesting. Tamin and a bunch of young guys...unless Curtis comes back for another year. Batemon is going to be a stud, though. Transfer portal season is going to be fun depending on who is staying and who is returning.

I could see us picking up a vet guard in the portal. Just to help until the freshman are up to speed. We also have Heise with some leadership ability. Jones getting another year would be huge.

I'm guessing we get at least one transfer guard, and one big to replace Chatfield. There's a lot of playing time to offer. When does the 15 man roster take effect instead of the 13?

I can’t see TJ not taking advantage of this year’s success and the 15 scholarship rule and gets another vet guard along with another true five.

In particular if we are fortunate enough to get Curtis back. It’s another national title window if that occurs. Borrow from the future, if needed

If we can get the German big, I’d bet on still adding at least a transfer guard and frontcourt player. The latter of which is probably a low cost/usage Jones and Chatfield type

The current freshman and incoming freshmen have a lot of potential to be surprise rotation guys too

Tamin, CuJo, Heise,

Milan, Watson, Jefferson, Jackson, Transfer in the frontcourt

That’s already a top-15 rotation before considering any of the underclassmen are good enough to contribute, or we land another unheralded transfer guard (like Curtis was)

I see the guard likely be more of a Gilbert type. Even though he hasn’t shown it Heise is a good shooter. Not having KGs attack the basket mentally will be missed. And I agree even with the big German I think we need another big banger. Especially if this is a Final four team you have to take advantage of the opportunity and land some vets. If they do get to the third weekend the best way to thank them is through We Will.

Imagine getting CuJo back! I’m also bullish on a more seasoned Nojus - lord willing be sticks around
100% agree. We have the best backcourt in the country. Lipsey/Gilbert/Jones all 1st team All Big 12 caliber players. Nojus as a true freshman wasnt going to challenge that group for minutes. I think Indrusaitis could take a major leap next year.

Lipsey - Senior
Jones - Senior
Momcilovic - Junior
Jefferson - Senior
Jackson - Senior

Heise - Senior
Watson - Senior
Indrusaitis - Sophomore

That group, before adding freshman or transfers, has a TON of experience, and again would be a preseason top 5 roster. Land a stud transfer or two, or one of the true freshman is too good to keep off the court and challenges Heise/Watson/Indrusaitis for rotation minutes? Sky is the limit!

I am really impressed with the German kid. He is a taller and more athletic version of Milan.
Probably not the same caliber of shooter. I say probably because I haven't seen enough of him to know one way or other, it's just unlikely he's as good a shooter as Milan. But he does look bigger and more athletic.
