Yes, I think the next two weeks I think chances are high that we get one (maybe two) guards on the board, between Tre Jackson, KyKy and possibly the Chicago kid who was previously a KU commitment.

If we get our PG of the future...

Oh how soon we move past the current players looking at the shiny new possibilities. (cough) Tyrese Haliburton.
The class could use a guard to round it out but the roster is pretty stacked as is so the staff can afford to be patient and get the best option. That isn't to say Prohm wouldn't happily take either KyKy or Tre in the next week but no need to panic if they take other visits.

You need two point guards. Period.

Can't have too many talented guards in the modern college game.

I ain't giving up on Haliburton -- far from it. I heard the Stanz & Fitz podcast that nominated he was going to play significant, meaningful minutes this season.

A backcourt of Nixon, Haliburton, Tandy, Horton-Tucker, and Leech sounds pretty good!

Lewis and Griffin are more-or-less back-court players, too. I like 'em all.

We do need a PG/Combo or two in this class though.

I agree the staff is targeting and will close on a talented PG/CG to finish out the '19 class. I just don't want people to freak out next Friday if Tre/KyKy don't announce a commitment. The staff has some recent new interests/offers for very good players that they can shift too if needed.
As for a second guard that is dependent on Lindell thus I am confident that'll be addressed in the spring.

Nah. I’ll wait until Monday to freak out. Give KyKy the weekend to think it over. ;)

Yeah, I don't think the focus on guards is a diss to Haliburton, rather a nod to the obvious needs as after this season we know we lose Babb to using up eligibility and likely Wigs to the pros. Prohm has had such a positive string of success with PGs that it has us all excited to keep the pipeline going.

The nice thing about Haliburton too is is that most likely he'll be a 4 year player, which ISU has had success with. I think he'll become that Naz type vocal leader too later on in his career which is good for the team overall. What would be nice is pairing an extremely athletic, scoring guard to go with Tyrese

It sounds like the staff is very high on Haliburton's long term prospects. I hope he is good enough to get on the court some this year, so he can get his feet wet.

Has us in his Final 7 as of August 12.

Okla State
Louisville
Iowa State
Missouri
Auburn
K State
VCU

But he's been linked to Missouri forever.

Cousin Jimmy went to Mizzou too. No way he wasn't going there don't be surprised if they get Liddell from Belleville too

A SF/TE combo prospect... maybe Cambell and Prohm tag team Gerald's recruitment? I believe the staff was at La Lumiere earlier this week.

What people forget about Naz is that he wasn't a 4 year player, he was a 5 & 1/2 year player! If I remember correctly he came in at semester his first year and redshirted, then had the medical redshirt that gave him the 6th school year. But, I don't mean to belittle your point. For example Fizer and Tinsley are legends for skill, but they weren't the "voice/face" emotionally for the fanbase that guys like Fred, Melvin, Georges and Naz were by "growing up " with the fanbase over a complete college career.
