For those of us that don't speak twitter. What is going on here?
Markese Jacobs is from Illinois. He is a recent (Aug. 24) Kansas decommit. He's the 7th best PG in the country (per 247 Composite) and we are recruiting him but have not offered him a scholarship. Maybe waiting until after Tandy and Jackson visit? Looks like Talen H-T is also recruiting him to ISU. They probably know each other.

All of this can be true, we might prefer the other guys (at least for right now).

The 7th best PG in the country is usually a no-brainer so I think it's clear there's doubt.

If I had to guess, they're working on building a relationship with him, and evaluating him too, while proceeding according to their previous plan. Certainly don't want to mess up the relationship with our current targets, especially if Jacobs isn't really interested.

The staff has put out feelers to Jacobs and it appears there is some mutual interest but I don't think the staff wants to start a full recruitment until they can fully scout and develop relationship thus there wasn't an offer.
Tre and Kyky are the priorities at this point due to having a relationship with both and them visiting next week. If they decide to take other visits I could see the staff ramping up the pursuit of other guards. I would expect Jacobs to be one of those if there isn't a commitment by Oct.

So how does this work with Jacobs being featured in an official Nike commercial?

I know all the big brands sponsor tourneys and teams and what not, but wouldn't a high school kid in the middle of his recruitment being in an official commercial as the featured athlete/actor make the NCAA execs get their panties in a bunch? I guess you could say "but he didn't get paid" (at least not directly), but still...I sure as heck still have no idea what actually constitutes a NCAA violation.

I have always been a believer of where there is smoke there is fire.

That is almost certainly not a real ad or made by Nike.

Looks like a Windows Movie Maker font at the end for "Just DO it", lol.

I noticed the quality issue too, but that's likely just crappy compression on a social media upload. It's the exact same logo/font used in the banner on Nike Chicago's certified account, and Nike Chicago posted the video.

Its not a Nike ad, Until he commits to Iowa State, then it's a level one infraction and he won't be eligible for a year. He got clearance to do it while committed to Kansas. Not Iowa State.

Haha, this is the exact scenario that was playing through my head that led me to voice this concern. Though if he had clearance while a KU commit, wouldn't KU's primary booster (Adidas) have something to say about that?

He decommitted from Kansas late August. He could have filmed it as an uncommitted recruit.

We have any recruits from any class visiting this weekend? Seems like a good weekend to have some.

Strange Kyky only has 2 Crystal ball prediction and they are both Tenn.
Those were before the recent commitment. Not saying they will change them but I believe they are "old".

PS- I can't believe I commented on Crystal Balls. I think they are not worth discussing unless there are a few posted or updated at nearly the same time.
