Higher ranking one year doesn’t mean “better” than a lower ranking the previous year.

Example: The number two ranked player in the 2018 class can be better than the number one ranked player in the 2017 class.

I’m not saying the MVC is better or worse, I don’t know. I’m just pointing out the flaw in the logic that was used.

That's fair.

I don't think that Loyola is as good as Wichita State was last season, or as good as UNI was back in 2015, but the balance from top to bottom was noticeably better this season than in previous years past.

Anyway, sorry to derail the thread.

I won't argue your statement at all. It may be better this year. I like Loyola, due to Custer, and Drake, but none of the rest. I've never cared for UNI. I honestly think it's because I despise purple.

I actually think Loyola could be one of the 12-5 upsets this year.
No doubt, and advanced metrics really like them. But if they get in a matchup that can exploit their lack of athleticism I think their top 10 top defense will be exposed and reliance on 6'10" 270 lb freshman in the middle to open up space for their offense will prove fatal.

I'd go Harris as preference but either. I'm actually terrified that he'll go to Baylor and rip us apart for 4 years.

Speaking of Rivals once again singled out Harris decision in their expert article.
https://basketballrecruiting.rivals...table-coaching-rumor-mill-conference-tourneys

""Everyone needs a point guard, and that makes Tyler Harris that much more of an important prospect this winter. Iowa State was the heavy favorite during the summer months, but it is currently in a scholarship bind, and if Harris even wanted to commit to the Cyclones, he can't until their roster numbers are sorted out. This has allowed other programs more time to get into the picture for Harris. The local Memphis Tigers have done their best to remain involved, though wins on the recruiting trail have been hard to come by since Tubby Smith took over the reins of the program two years ago.
"This all leads to Baylor making a late surge, and the Bears may now be the favorite for the diminutive guard. Scott Drew has worked wonders with players in the mold of Harris at the point guard spot.".

Would love to get Harris to go along side Haliburton. Maybe Haliburton can be the long term answer at PG but I'm skeptical of guys that come in as combo guards being able to play the 1 at a high level. I love the idea of a pure PG playing alongside a combo.

Have not been on much this week, brother diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.

Last I saw there was a rumor of us losing a starter in the backcourt based on a cryptic tweet and a claim of an inside source. Is that still the jist on has more info been added or debunked?

So sorry to hear that, thoughts and prayers with you and your family.

Someone asked CW a question on Twitter related to that, and he responded that he hadn't heard anything about that. The tweet itself could have meant anything, and the poster who started the thread has a prior history of rumors that look like speculation.

Thoughts with you and your brother most importantly!
Thread was deleted, nothing certain. Lots of speculation which likely led to it being deleted.
I don't know if your brother is a big ISU fan at all, but ISU is awesome at helping out in these situations. If you have a football or basketball you want signed for your brother, they have been more than willing to get signatures in my past experiences with my sister and a close friend in a similar situation.
Peace to both of you.
