In my daily Twitter search of "Iowa State" and "Iowa St", I found this tweet from somebody who covers Arkansas recruiting. He claims we are involved with these two 2017 recruits.

A lot of people still didn't think Matt Thomas was good even after he actually played here for two years, enough though he clearly had potential.

Melvin somehow went from "not a Big 12 caliber player" to Big 12 player of the year. Anyone that said the former should never comment on basketball again.
That's simply not true, at least on CF. Posters thinking not All-Big 12? Sure. People just thinking we needed someone else starting? A small group. But you'd have trouble finding more than two or three people on CF that thought he wasn't good as a junior.
He said two years, so as a Sophomore. And there were plenty that were unsure of him, including Fred.

I've read all of those. And it may be more of a doesn't or hasn't than can't. There were streams of his juco games at one time, too, if you want to look.
With his athleticism and size, if he could dribble, catch, play team defense, and shoot he'd be an AA level guy.
Are you ********? After two years means after his sophomore season, before his junior season. You know, the time of year it is now that people are writing off Long because he didn't really play as a freshman in a similar situation to Naz Long his freshman year.
Personally, I see him as a red-shirt candidate, at best. Nothing really stands out to me about his game.
